I thought this was some kind of joke, but the replies are full of Americans saying they wish it wasnโt boiled in plastic but itโs too good to pass up. What the fuck

it's mostly frozen crap poured into a boiler (it's for shellfish, equivalent to a deep fryer for fries) and then poured into a square plastic bag, sauce dumped on, then the bag lid is twisted shut to inflate for steam the plastics are the worst part

there's probably more plastic in the shrimp than that plastic bag could ever hope to give off. you should be more worried about that plastic bag not getting recycled, being blown across the ground, shaving off into a fine powder, and that fine powder being carried by water into the ocean where your next seafood will eat it, and then you eat the entire bag, instead of just a few micrograms of leeched out softener.
70% of what you're getting from the shrimp would probably come from car tires, not plastic bags though, since that is the main contributor to microplastics in the ocean.

Iโm pretty sure itโs just boiled regularly and then portioned out into bags..

You're still eating alligator and shrimp at the end of the day, doesn't matter how fancy the silverware or tablecloth is. That being said I would not use the ads section if a newspaper as a tablecloth. Nor would I wash my chicken with dishsoap
>>21443895 >But maybe youd like the corn, potatoes and sausage sure, if it went for the spicy oil it's cooked in. Eating any seafood by the lb is already hell on most people's stomachs, boiling it in spicy oil is a recipe for disaster the shits I get after this are never pleasant

>>21443907 That headline is incorrect. They're adding ze bugges *back*. 300 years ago, food had a much higher percentage of insects than today. So much so that it constituted a statistically relevant amount of extra protein. So, by adding ze bugges to food *again*, they are correcting a historic nutritional imbalance, brought about by agroindustrialization.
