Is making large reservations at a restaurant, then just not showing up totally unethical?

no, it's encouraged. total restaurant death. i'm not tipping. i'm not paying your staff for you. i'm not abiding by your dress code. i'm not paying a service or a healthcare fee. they all deserve to go out of business for being jewish

What do you think "ethical" means? We need to find that out before humoring your retardation.

You massively inconvenience the minimum wage staff needlessly, that's bad.

There also is no ultimate effect, walk ins might be delayed an extra 10 minutes which in my experience is the typical weight time anyways. That's it.

Yes it's unethical.

Your opinion is bad and you're too stupid to even consider who is the real enemy.
You want to attack society go steal some Uber eats bags that are sitting out at soulless fast food joints.

Yes, anon. All restaurants are owned by Jews. The 2.4% of the American population who are Jewish own all of the restaurants and must be punished for being Jewish. Because this is 1930s Germany apparently and we have a problem with Jewish people.

is showing up to a restaurant with a party of twenty people at the very moment they open because they don't do reservations and it's the only way to know your getting a table immoral?
Anonymous No.21438944 [Report]

I don't see why it would be? You're paying customers showing up to be paying customers
Anonymous No.21440703 [Report]
did you plan on not showing up or did you have other circumstances?
either way no, fuck restaurants

It's not a victimless crime. They probably have a whole section being held empty, and it'd affect at least 1 waiter.

As soon as you know you will have to cancel, you give them the courtesy of knowing that. That would be the polite thing to do. If you used opentable, it's a simple click and confirm to remove or alter a reservation. A phone call is nice too.

It's groups like you who create those annoying restaurants that now need a service fee to secure reservations along with your credit card numbers. Some of them even have cancellation penalties.

It’s fine, this sort of thing is always covered by restaurant insurance.

Do it. Could make reservations require a down payment.

If those restaurants were any good in the first place, one cancelled table would be a nothingburger for them.

No, just like a $2500+ preorder to your job at lunch harms nobody even if the food never gets eaten.
Anonymous No.21443866 [Report] >>21443879
Most nice restaurants require you to give them a credit or debit card number to plage a reservation. This thread is a pethetic larp.

I've only seen this in restaurants that have Michelin stars and it's certainly not a standard even with those places.

It should be a standard but it isn't.
