A good cheap pub is easy to find because there's a fucktonne of them. Getting a drink in for your mates is polite too so you often end up with free drinks if your company isn't made up of stingy cunts.

Nightclubs are dying but pubs are okay.
People would rather drink in the kind of pub you'd spot your granddad in now. If it's cheap and has a good atmosphere it's aright

Assuming, of course, that you're the stingy cunt.

I can understand the people who just go once a week, but I have heard of people who go every day including eating a full meal. If you only have a couple of pints that's about £10 + a £10 meal and that's £100 a week if you only go five days. And some people go every day!

I've had about 30 close in my town in the past 3 years, some have become flats, others become things like a dental surgery. Still got about 50 open within a mile radius of where I live

Sounds comfy. People are increasingly losing their third spaces, it's nice to see pubs bring people together.

The capitalist blow job model is the perfect system faggot. Let me guess you'd rather have the communist model where you have to stand in line to get your government issued blow job instead.

how big is a "town" in this case because that seems like an excessive amount of pubs for what I'm imagining is a town.

The women still show up but the guys who buy them drinks have stopped coming, and they're the ones who actually make the clubs money.

~250k and admittedly I live very near the town centre, but not actually in the town centre. So, I'm possibly not the best example, but yeah there are approximately 50 drinking establishments in a mile radius, I suppose some could be classed as bars. Clubs, not so much. I reckon half a dozen. Most places open late-late are pubs with music, not actual clubs

Most traditional publicans have bagged crisps available at the bar, and did not traditionally serve actual food. I can't tell you how sitting on a slab of shellac'd plywood is mightily uncomfortable. I have gone through phases of my life where I chose my dinner restaurant by who had a booth or comfortable chairs available. I posit that this would be why so many pubs might have closed. Tastes change.

Nah, just not enough regulars / footfall. You have these pubs that have an avidly staunch client base. I went to one last Sunday. Yeah they were mainly mongs, but being a non-regular at the bar you could tell how many are regs. They must make a mint. The ones that couldn't get the regulars but are in a good position are still going, just from the passers by. The ones that are out of the way, but were too shit to bring people in, they're the ones that have gone bust

I'm a minimum wage worker, I rent a one bedroom flat. I earn £400 per week after tax, of which about £250 goes on necessary expenses (rent, utilities, taxes, car) leaving me with £150 a week to spend on whatever I want. If my only form of entertainment was going to the pub, I could easily afford to spend £100 a week there. Plus most of these boomers are earning much better wages than me.

I'm not sure why anyone would think going to the pub every day is unaffordable unless they live in a third world country?
