I am a francophile
I spend 40-60 minutes reading French literature everyday in French and read as much as possible of the front page of /r/france every morning
I know coq au vin, bœuf bourguignon, soufflé, soupe à l’oignon, far breton, clafoutis, tarte tatin and flan pâtissier
I really need to learn more about French cuisine but whenever I try it I just get too lazy or the recipes don't look good
I love France!

French cuisine is not only some specific dish or a preset list of food items.. It's also a method, a set of technics and combinations that allow creativity in the making of a dish. A large number of restaurants serve french cuisine without you knowing it because the chef uses this methodes to freely create his own menu. And that's why many top restaurants are french inspired. It emphasize the chef's uniqueness instead of his hability to recreate a preset dish.
But don't get me wrong, french also have a ton of great traditional food.
