french toast is a cross between custard and a yorky pudding and it's fucking perfect

the trick is to keep it medium rare, overcooked or dry french toast is a literal crime and an affront to god

Church would be a lot better if the body of Christ was French toast, the blood of Christ maple syrup, and everyone had breakfast during the sermon.

>What an odd thing to claim
It's not really.

In Britain, bread pudding is a very stodgy lump and slices of it would in no way resemble 'French Toast' or as we call it Eggy Bread.

Bread and Butter Pudding is a little different, as it is made with layers but again, it doesn't taste similar as ingredients and method are not the same.

>had some and it's not very good.
you became an adult and not previously even once had french toast, but you seem able to judge it flippantly from one occasion? You do or do not like pancakes and waffles. I need to know. You llike real maple, or pancake syrup or not? The issue might be you.

The whole point of calling it eggy bread is to differentiate from French toast. As eggy bread is just bread soaked in egg and fried in (usually) bacon fat. Whereas French toast is some sweet load of shit

It's for getting rid of stale bread. Not common in the US, since store bought bread has enough preservatives to keep it fresh for over a week.

French toast is Ike scrambled eggs, anyone can make a bad version of it.
The bread needs to be just the right amount of stale and dipped for just long enough fo make really good French toast. Served with butter, powdered sugar and fresh figs is amazing.

you know what's fucked? sometimes when I buy Australian beef, lamb, or seafood it's imported from China.

you read that right, it's exported to China, butchered/processed, and exported and sold back to Australia. it's literally cheaper to cargoship millions of tons of shit to China and back than to process and sell it here. I guess this is a necessary exchange to ensure efficient importing of the next virus
