What do you eat when it's Monday morning, your remote job has given you nothing to do, and you know that everyone else is out there, working and living? What do I eat? What do I do?

Maybe I'll just go down the street to a breakfast truck, get a sandwich, and eat it listlessly in the park. I dunno. What should I eat. I'm not even hungry but I'm told breakfast is an important thing to make sure to eat.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Lmao I’m in the same situation, just waiting for a meeting.
I think I’m gonna make some rice.

I do meal prepping on Sunday nights, either overnight oats or a couple ounces of steak and an egg. Saves money, and gives me something to look forward to on Monday mornings.

Hope you get something to do today, anon. Make sure to take walks during the workday!

Are you consultants that need to work to get paid or something? Start coming into the office because people will give you work if they like you. Right now you're just some guy on a video call they've never (or rarely) actually met.

No just someone whose job went fully remote in April 2020. I haven't set foot in an office since. I live in big city so there's plenty of things to do but sometimes I get into decision paralysis / existential crisis / etc

Work? I don’t want work. I want money. Why the hell would I want to get more work when I can do nothing and still get paid?

Codechad btw.

I dunno about the other anons but I'm a salaried employee making 6 figs. As long as I make it to the scheduled meetings, the team I manage has good metrics, I'm able to lead when my team needs me, and our client likes me then I can work as much or as little as I want.
As for me, I just started a slow cooker beef and okra stew. Should be delicious and ready to eat by the time I officially sign off

>notify boss from phone Slack app

As someone in a similar position I will say it's funny how many meetings I don't need to actually attend. I've got five on my calendar for tomorrow and I only have to call into one.

Occasionally I miss the catered food they'd have at the office sometimes but it was always some shit like Panera or Au Bon Pain anyway

Same situation. I woke up, had a morning check-in meeting, and spent rest of the morning fixing my kitchen sink because my garbage disposal exploded yesterday. Now I'm going to go get a haircut, swing by the grocery store, and come home and make some burgers. Maybe do some work if there's still time before 5:00.

Yeah for sure, I generally go to the first few meetings and if it's just a shitty "war room" or doesn't have any info that I wouldn't have gotten from reading emails + Slack channels then I just stop going. It's the only way to counteract meeting bloat and incentivizes people to put actually important info into writing instead of saying it once and expecting everyone to remember what they said two weeks later

Unfortunately not. Im an electrician and my boss often goes to jobs in the morning to check them out and if it works out he calls me to come to the job. Thats usually when we dont have a lot going on

We had an Au Bon in our building and I can't count the number of times we had it catered to meetings. We all got sick of it but free food is free food so bitching was minimal
