Impactful Food Moments
Have you ever had a new food that was such a new and powerful experience on your taste buds you vividly remember your first bite years later?
For me it was beer brats. I was 9 years old and my future stepdad took my mom and my siblings and myself out on his families sailboat. They grilled up some fresh beer brats. I had never had one so I was kind of hesitant at first, but after the first bite I was hooked. The spiced meat with hints of beer yeast and charcoal smoke and the sour tang of the sauerkraut and yellow mustard hit my taste buds like a speeding truck into a crowd of people at German Christmas market. I had just found one of my new favorite foods, and as an adult I make them all the time.
