What's the point of this? Wouldn't the underlying bacon be floppy and barely browned?

You could fry the bacon, freeze it, then bread and deeply fry it while frozen. Will probably get you somewhat close to a palatable deep fried bacon.
I don't really see the point though, unless you're having it as silly festival food that's meant to be somewhat obnoxious like a fried oreo.
