Dry yeast
Actimated with some sugar and water and flour, left to sit for a few min while I fucked around in the kitchen
>>21475654I'll be monitoring this thread throughout the day anon
>>21475658Is that lucky star? Gotta move it up on my list. I learned there was a pink girl in it, which would have been useful (sometimew foreshadowing is relatively obvious)
Doesn't need alot of kneeding. I only really did it a bit to make sure there were no flour chunks. It looks all sloppy now, but itll come together
>>21475661It's worth a watch if you like something comfy to watch while your bread rises.
do you split the peas yourself or buy pre-split?
>>21475665I love comfy
>>21475667I split them myself individually, one by one. Takes a long time, but you can taste the difference
I'm so fucked up
you need to lose some weight bro
>>21475683Yeah, I know
But not today!
Comfy dough!
Comfy deshiko!
This was
>6 cups (overfilled) of flour
>roughly 900ml water
>2 medium spoons of dry yeast (dunno how that translates to grams, I homebrew)
>4 small spoons of salt
>1 small spoon of sugar
>dash of avocado oil (ran out of olive oil, wouldve used that instead)
>let rise for over an hour, with folding every so often
After 25m
Didn't rise super much, but were just getting started
It's pretty warm in my house, but it was cooler outside today
After these folds I ended up leaving the dough next to the stove with the burner on low just so the area would heat up a bit and help it along
Five times before it goes back to rest
Make sure to give it a nice pat so it knows it's a good dough :3
After another 25m
Lookin mighty doughey there
Lay dough out on tabel
Divide in halve
>roll roll roll roll roll roll roll
Look at those lovely air bubbles
And now we wait again
Left them to rise like half an hour in the pans
>>21475808>MFW I get the first waft of the bread bakingBread bros itโs almost time
>>21475873It is almost time
But first, we begin the soupa
>split peas>bacon>sausage(not pictured)>onion>garlic>carrot>cellary>white carrot>salt, pepper, thyme, bayleaf(does nothing)
Molest the split peas under running water
Bacon in pot
Make sure you get your face super close to bacon grease jumps up and almost hits you directly in the eye, missing by half an inch. That part is extremely important
Lookin mighty tasty already
I could eat this whole thing raw, bros
Into ze oven
Roughly 50m, first 20 on 400, rest on 375
Sauteeing the onions in the bacon grease
They're not that done, they just have that color cause of the grease
Just post the last image with all three things already made nobody cares about this shit.
>>21475987Feel free to leave my thread and not come back, then :)
>pov your'e chicken broth
Cellary, white carrot, thyme, pepper, salt, and a bayleaf (does nothing)
Carry on my plump friend, I'm enjoying the thread.
>>21476019Glad ur here bro <3
Covered
Must boil for a bit over an hour
>>21475683Never trust a skinny cook.
>>21475893>>white carrotAnon, is that a parsnip
Is this a ruse
>>21475929There is something very satisfying about slashing dough, though, even if mine also tends to look... less than professional.
Also I should make soup.
Carrots chopped up for later
I put them in about halfway through the boild
1h is too long for carrots to boil, theyll turn to mush
>>21476057I forgot what it was called
Bellepper
If you remember my last thread this is a actually the part of the bellpepper I saved from the stuffed ones
>>21466292
And parsley to add at the end
Soup is coming together, but it needs anoter 15 or 20
Mmmhhhmmmm hhhmmmmm
Two loafves of bread
Smell? Impeccable!
Sight? For sore eyes!
Sound? Like music to my ears!
Taste? Ab-so-lout-ly de-lic-i-ous!
Touch? Crunchy and crisp exterior, warm and soft interior!
Yeah, this was a bread making success, bros
While it rests, the soup is approaching done, too
About an hour and ten after starting to boil, the split pea soup is finished. Parsley added at the end, as well as any extra seasoning (I added a touch more salt and pepper and a bit of vegeta)
It's very green!
I shouldve waited longer before cutting the bread, but I was getting impatient. I let the other loaf settle completely before cutting it up for storage in thr freezer for toast over the next week
Fresh bread
Nice and scrunchy :3
Bros
Nothin quite like homemade bread
Wallah
Split pea soup served with a topping of bacon and homemade bread
Delectable!
the journey was better than the destination if I'm being honest
>>21476389Ur a bit gay desu
That's some good looking bread.
>>21476389I stayed for the good looking bread
>>21476592Thanks
>>21476594The pea soup does look like pigslop, but it tastes good
Just had it as leftovers. It turned into peamush instead of soup lol
Anyone else enjoy cracking eggs?
>11-12 eggs
>5 big spoons of veg oil in yolks
>5 big spoons of milk in yolks
>a pinch of salt
>a pinch of baking powder (not necessary(it's cheating))
When whites are fluffy add sugar
>11 big spoons
Make sure you spill
This part is really important
Mix in on slow for a minute, maybe 30s or so
Folding in by hand is safer
Pour into the trays and even it out
Lifting it up an inch and dropping it gets rid of the air bubbles
You can literally see them escape
Uh oh what's this?
Artificial flavoring?
>egg yolks
>sugar
>water
>kool-aid packet
>half a stick of budder
>heated over the burner for a few minutes until it thickens
About 30m in the oven. First 10 on 400, rest on 350
Left it in the oven with it off and with the door ajar so there was a slower change in temp, too. Then let them cool
Turned them upsidedown for a bit so they would settle a bit more flat, they bumped up in the middle a bit
>>21476295Looks gorgeous, after the first spoonful I would make several nose noises (indicating that itโs delicious)
>>21476899Thanks bro
>>21477073I appreciate that alot lol
Now that the cake spoonges have cooled and so has the ARTIFICIAL CHERRY FLAVORING, add another half stick of room temp butter and incorporate it
It's not pink enough, so I'm gonna CHEAT
Whipping up some whipped cream topping
While this is being whipped for a minute, toss the pink in the fridge
Once beated and lightened, powedered sugar
>WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH WOOSH
Cocoa powder
Dont forget to scrape the sides clean with the spatula like you would for cookies
While that's going, slowly fold in the whipped cream into the PINK
Added a bit more powdered sugar, as it was too sour
Mmmhhhhmmmm
Chocolate buttercream
Same thing to the chocolate
Shaved the top off the next sponge so the cream would sit more nicely
And topping it off with a thin covering of chocolate
Smoothing the sides and finishing off with dark chocolate
>>21477281
Cherry chocolate cake
Done!
And I depart with some final shots of bread
Thanks for coming to my thread
>>21477205I should try doing it this way, every time Iโve made buttercream Iโve felt itโs too dense and I didnโt like it
>>21477290Yay cake! Thanks for your posting efforts, love me a good cookalong
>fat hand
>cool whip
>pre-ground pepper
lol
>fat man that enjoys the fruits of his labor a little too much
he's just like me fr fr
Rare quality thread in a sea of shit.
We haffi big up di cooks dem.
>>21476051never trust a fat one, they'll eat anything
>>21477294Thanks for making it anon. Any cookalong or thread where someone actually makes shit is welcome.
>>21477888I am you and you are me. We both are OP and OP is us.
Enjoyed this thread, thank you OP. Was worried for a bit that you weren't gonna do the cake but I'm glad you did. Comfy vibe overall.
good thread op, we need more of these here.
>>21478041Worry not luckybro
I merely took a break mid-day and posted slowly so as to not burn myself out waiting for that 60s timer in between all my posts
>>21478043I try my best anon
>>21477564Also here's a gif of how I incorporated the whipped cream
You gotta basically go super slow in cirlces and not press down on it
It takes practice and if you're not careful you could ruin it by overmixing
>>21475658>>21475661holy shit you are incel faggot pedos
>>21475663>>21475671Look how fucking fat you are.
>>21477294KYS, tranime chimo
>>21477913>babytalk>'fren' frogYou are a piece of shit and you'll never get laid. KYS now, chud.

Uh oh meltie
I can't imagine being THIS upset in a /ck/ thread
>>21475916this is a mistake in my opinion. any time i go too far crispy with the bacon, in a dish where it will end up simmering in liquid for hours, it doesnt soften back up and has an awful texture
probably why some cooks use lardon, the pieces are too big to pass the crispy point of no return like bacon strips
>>21475652 (OP)I truly cannot stand split peas or lentils.
>>21481792You're wrong, but it's nice to have an opinion
>>21481977Holy chimo faggotry! Get off of my food board.
>>21482000Where does it explicitly say that? Or is it like me saying that it's a dolphin website or a tree website or a jeans website?
>>21482000Youโve got to go back.
>>21482004>appeal to authority
>>21482002It doesnโt.
It never has been.
Youโre dealing with a newfag.
>>21482004Youโve done him.
>>21482000Heโs done you.
>>21482018*you've done xer
>>21482000check'd truth numerals
The mentally ill have come out to play
>>21481792But I didn't boil the bacon in the soup afterwards
I just used the bacon grease to simmer the onions and garlic
I ate it the bacon on the side, as if it were a topping for the soup
>>21482004>gookmoot opinionYou're really fucking dumb, aren't you?
You're also a cancer that's ruining the entire website, but that's beside the point
You're real stupid
>>21482197The owner of the website says that the website isn't themed and has control over whether it is or not. Yet you throw your toys out of the cot like a little toddler. It's difficult to say to someone who watches cartoons of little girls as an adult - think about that for a minute - but grow up
>>21482216Leave.
This website was not made for you and you are not welcome.
It's that simple.
I don't understand why you continue to engage with people who hate you.
reddit is, unironically, more your speed.
>>21482475I'd prefer if you responded to my claim: "gookmoot" is the owner of the website - agreed? He says it's not anime themed - correct? As the owner of the website he could in theory nuke the 14 anime boards, that's a fact isn't it? Answer those. Listen, if I made you seethe and possibly sob with my comment about grown men and cartoon children, I'm sorry, it disturbs some of us. So let's forget that, respond to the above
>>21482486I'd prefer if you commited suicide.
>>21482486You seem to be very upset
Next time you get banned on a "non-anime" board feel free to ask yourself why an anime character mascot shows up to tell you you're a faggot
Cancer.
>>21482511>>21482535Yeah, that's great, just answer the questions. If you have courage in your convictions, you can answer them in a well informed fashion whilst refuting each one
>>21482859Yeah, that's great, just commit suicide.
>>21482866Oh OK. So you can't back up your "anime website" claim with any basis, so you resort to a childish retort. Like someone, well like an adult who watches cartoons. No point in taking this any further. No positives to take from this discourse, it's sort of alarming
>>21482872Oh OK. So you can't kill yourself, so you resort to a childish retort. Like someone, well like an adult who should kill xyrself. No point in taking this any further. No positives to take from this discourse, it's sort of alarming.
