I just turned 37 I and grew up on movies and music older than me thanks to my parents. Pretty thankful for it since modern gens don't seem to want to experience older awesome shit. I recently talked to a younger guy that had no interest in watching Terminator, Alien, The Thing, ect. He had no care to give older music a try at all, and has no interest in owning a car of any kind. I'm starting to feel like I don't understand young people for the first time.

I love the slimy, gooey feel of 80s movie special effects. Even in top-notch movies, villains often melt and die.

I'm your age. I talked to a younger coworker about movies a decade ago and he wouldn't watch any of the movies you listed or other similar classics because he claimed the effects looked too fake and everything was too over the top and cheesy. It's gotten even worse as more time has passed.
