I tell you, sometimes there's nothing like a good pizza with a side of breadsticks.

I dunno, man. That sausage is excessive. Decadent, even.

That makes no sense. Breadsticks are not “basically pizza” in any sense. Is a sourdough loaf pizza?

How is this different than pizza, besides not being baked in an oven all together?

oh anon you and me both know when a pizza place sells "breadsticks" they're selling their pizza dough, with cheese, and a side of pizza sauce to dip it in.

it's sort of a different form factor but it's 100% a side of basically pizza

Those are Papa John's bread sticks, which are oven baked. Papa John's has no fryers.

well, OP’s breadsticks don’t even have cheese, it’s literally a stick of bread. when it does have cheese, they’re usually called something like “cheesy bread”.

It's even more bizarre to me when people dip "cheese bread" into tomato sauce.

I guess if you want an extreme amount of sauce that would otherwise make the dough harder to cook or eat this would make sense.

I hate how all of the big chains don't know how to do sausage correctly. It should be small crumbles not giant chunks. Seems like only small local places can get this right.

meatballs should be big and sliced into coins or chunks

Cheesy bread is extra greasy, but the puffy light bread just hits different compared to the pizzas, at least for dominoes. They used to sort of partially cut them into easily torn off pieces to dip in marinara but I just had it a few times and I guess they dont any more.

correct, it's all the same dough
just cut and stretched differently
same with papadias and the papa bites

the only thing on our menu that uses an actual different dough is the Gluten Free crust

how much is that pizza vs the bread sticks.
that doesn't seem like enough sauces for the stick

looks like a Large original crust Meatball and Sausage
That'd run you like $18.50 without any discounts or deals (I'm assuming Meatballs are priced as a 'premium' topping since we don't have them at my location)
Regular plain breadsticks are $7.50

and yes, the breadsticks usually only come with ONE meager little cup of pizza sauce
which is why I imagine he ordered all the extra cheese
