Have you ever enjoyed a type of food so much that you wanted to move to the country that made it and become one with the people there?

I’d rather live somewhere I can become one with all the cultures.

I moved to the USA because I love American food. Unlike Italian, French, or African-American food, American food is food from EVERY culture around the world. It is like a melting pot filled with culture from various parts of the world, and it tastes so good. Why should I limit myself to one style of food when I can have ALL of them?

Imagine a foreign food, but good. That's American food. Pizza, but with toppings. Meat between bread, but it's a grilled seasoned hamburger patty and it's got sauce and cheese and some vegetables in there. Ground up animal anuses, but instead of boiled and plated, it's ground up and seasoned and dyed then stuffed into tubes and smoked so it looks and tastes like meat.

You sort of have a point. I'm on the other side of it though. American food is refined and tweaked with salt and sugar and fat and portion size to be profitable and addictive.
It's abundant and makes your body release dopamine.
But I'd rather have actual ethnic foods that aren't Americanized. Because I'm healthy and more refined myself.
Like I don't want to see what "American Pho" will be in 40 years. They'll surely find the lowest common denominator aspects and double down on them to the max. I don't want the 'pepperoni and cheese-stuffed pretzel crust' version of Pho, thank you very much.

But I know you do. Hang in there.

Thailand

Bangkok is the best food city I have ever been to in my life, obvious I love Thai cuisine but in general the options are unparalleled .
If you don't feel like eating Thai one day you can find basically whatever you want pretty easily.
It also has the largest Chinatown in asia if I remember correctly and the chink food is good.

I understand your perspective and agree that it's true for fast food and chain restaurants, but not universally true of American food. A lot of us cook at home and we don't go around adding sugar to everything. I don't even have sugar in my kitchen and I only eat food that I cook.

I loved Chinese food so much that I went to China.
Big mistake. processed shit, polluted, poisonous food, antisocial dining culture, nope. Did learn some really cool things though.
There are really interesting ethnic cuisines in China unknown outside of the country
