Peas and corn on the cob both go great with mashed taters and gravy. Or some greens, or asparagus.

peas, carrots, broccoli, or asperigus are great sides to fried chicken and mash potatoes.

>>21493100
sweetness to balance out the savory/salty flavors of the other dishes. cole slaw or corn makes a good side for the same reason. Fast food restraunts solve this by serving you a sugary drink instead.

Some sort of vegetable, corn on the cob with lots of butter and black pepper, or some fresh coleslaw, maybe some fried okra.

Hot sauce or some of that gravy on the chicken, for one. Second, like everyone itt says you need a fiber/roughage source. Personally I'd go with green beans or slaw. Third, maybe pushing it but a dinner roll or cornbread and honey/butter.

Then you gotta swap the mashed potatoes for grits, hashbrowns, or home fries, and the chicken gravy for white peppercorn gravy

Roast chicken would be much better, that gravy is going to ruin the crispiness of the skin, and it's missing an array of vegetables seasoned in butter and yorkshire puds

What kind of brine do people here use?

My dumb ass just uses some milk with lemon juice and tony cachere's, and it turns out pretty damn good, but I've heard adding pickle juice and/or buying real buttermilk can really boost things
