Driking during meals: yay or nay? Does it make you bloated or does it help your digestion?

Why does it show the oriental with a cup of some dark liquid when the caption talks about water. Drinking water with meals certainly isn't a problem for most peoples, but maybe their constitutions are extra weak.

I like my coffee with breakfast and herbal tea over dinner. Something about a cold drink, even water, with food seems wrong to me.

I notice sometimes if I eat a lot of protein that drinking cold water after feels more uncomfortable. Protein is supposed to be hardest to digest so maybe it just matters most with that. I don't notice it as much if I mostly eat starch and fat.

You can never have enough small sips of water. How that would make you feel worse while eating is pure horseshit. This is actual common sense.

I'm actually deathly allergic to water, so I can't drink the stuff unless I want to go to a hospital.

I consider a meal to be incomplete without a beverage. Also, the beverage should pair with the meal. You can have sweet beverages like soda or sweet tea or something like that with savory foods. Sweeter foods like pancakes or cake should be paired with milk or coffee.
