Question to you Americans: as an Euro from a country that can actually cook (IE not a Scandinavian one, Ireland or Britain), I don't know jack balls about Ameritacos other than that they're made with mince cooked with a sachet of taco seasoning and served in a crunchy corn clam.
Well, I live in America, my son had American tacos at a friend's house recently and liked them. I want to surprise him with them tomorrow.
Already bought the crunchy corn clams and we've got plenty of mince in the freezer but I don't know what to have as a side. I know the toppings are typical burger fixings (cheese and LTO) plus sour cream and taco sauce but not what to eat on the side. What's a typical vegetable side for crunchy Ameritacos?

In the PNW we have a similar chain called Taco Time that also has a nice salad. I'm about the crisp beef burritos and mexi fries (now called tater fries because of woke), though.

Do not listen to this guy. Beans are sacred to mexicans and they even train them to jump! This is why they are called Beaners. Sorta like how Indians are with cows. Anyway, the traditional side for tacos is fondue.

Why are you? Those look genuinely awful. I'm the guy asking for taco advice. I make red bean paste myself by boiling the beans and mushing them through a sieve, generally leaving the skins behind, yielding an extremely smooth paste. I can't imagine the process for refried beans would be much different considering how smooth they are

I don't taste any cheese in them but they're often topped with them and as for lard, red bean paste traditional has lard in it, too (though I use coconut oil). You whip it with the warm, melted fat (also powdered sugar) after the beans have been sieved of their skins.

I'll look into that. Don't know what that is (unless you mean paella).

My post did indeed ask a question. And that question was
>What's a typical vegetable side for crunchy AMERITACOS?
If it's refried beans then it's refried beans. Just seems weird with crunchy tacos, is all.

Yeah, was going for salsa as a starter. We've got some lemon-flavoured tortilla chips we got cheap that need using.
We usually just eat fruit for a sweet but I actually bought "dessert taco shells" that are cinnamon sugar coated that I'm gonna stuff with ice cream.

Thanks for the help everyone!
