the cdc’s annual report is a pretty thorough study incorporating many sources of data, post which study you’re referring to
>>21505055
it’s not though, it’s a popular thing to say on the internet. I suppose any occurrence at all is alarmingly high but I’ve never seen anything convincing. I don’t even think there’s great data out there on this, because there’s so many steps and potential interventions across different providers that you could potentially blame a patient’s death on. Delayed antibiotics, slow code response due to patient coding in a weird area of the hospital, etc. But you couldn’t really pinpoint any single thing as THE mistake that caused the death because sometimes people do die despite everything being done by the book.

I would love to see your proof of this. It's almost uniquely false. I do use potassium when I can personally because I know for a fact I am lacking in potassium, I also kinda believe it's better for me than sodium. But I've never found a real study or paper that really says shit about anything below sweating out levels. If you are sweating it out and replacing it and all that, and it isn't seawater levels of salt, the sodium so doesn't really affect your kidneys let alone your liver.

The number of deaths attributed to medical errors in the US is estimated to be between 250,000 and 400,000 annually, making it a leading cause of death. Some studies suggest the figure could be even higher, possibly reaching 440,000.

and the cause of high bP is in fact, unknown.
if not p, then not Q, simple logic. Your whole argument doesn't add up.

Facts are that sodium does not affect individuals the same way equally, if at all. A cause of high blood pressure can be a host of factors, from your genes, your age, your blood sugar, obesity, your sedentarinbess, your stress levels and how you handle it, your quality of sleep and cortisol, your racial makeup/your genetics, your smoking habit, your really unhealthy diet, and so forth. Just being around cigarette smoke increases your risk of stroke within the next 3 days.

I was getting about 2g of sodium per day and I felt not great. I was having low sodium symptoms if I drank more than a small cup of water. My heart rate and blood pressure went down when I got more sodium along with more potassium, even though I was technically getting enough potassium too.

A lot of modern dietary advice is how to reduce symptoms for obese people. But that doesn't mean it's really ideal for optimal health in someone who isn't obese. There is some discussion and evidence showing that people who consume 3-5g of sodium per day might have the best health.

>>21505047
>stimulants
That's good point with most people regularly consuming a lot of caffeine and vaping and whatever.

Do you get enough potassium? That's supposed to balance out sodium and a lot of people might not be getting enough. Sodium is a necessary electrolyte but it's only one part of it that affects things like heart rate, blood pressure, etc.

high blood pressure can directly cause vascular disease over time because it damages the walls of your arteries and then they harden during the healing process, becoming less flexible, and raising your blood pressure. extremely high blood pressure can also just straight up damage your organs. many people don't know they even have high blood pressure until they go to the eye doctor for a checkup and the insides of their eyes are damaged from blood pressure. or leaking protein into your kidneys that shows up on a urinalysis or cause foamy urine that prompts a doctor visit.

And the cause of death is not heart disease, but officially, it is cardiac arrest, ie the heart stopped, and therefore you died.
So, in other words, you have no actual statistics about heart disease, just one person's assertions. Most stats are made up on the spot.

"High BP" has changed iver the last few years. Working as a medic for over a decade BP that was 120-130s systolic was considered fine as long as you were below 140. Now in nursing school pretty much anything over 120 they are trying to say is prehypertension and 130 and above is stage 1 hypertension. Its kinda retarded. They want people to have BPs of like 100/60, if mine drops that low I wont be feeling great.
Also other anons are right, sodium is not the root cause of high BP or heart disease there are dozens of factors that contribute. Diet is just a drop of water in the bucket of overall health.

1500mg of salt is a pile the size of a dime and only 40% of salt is sodium. Eating potassium will lower your sodium, likewise eating sodium will lower your potassium.
