>>21506285What listen? You mean read? What am I missing? I guess you're just really suspicious of the world and I'M the idiot for being so "naive" as not to assume all commercial olive oil is some sort of attempted ruse to fleece me of my money.
So you saw some article once about fake honey and suddenly it's "who can I trust? The honey is fake!!"
Just because something HAS happened doesn't mean it's commonplace. Yes, I'm American, and here there are regulations about things. Every time I see some shit about a major food scam it's in Europe or Asia or somewhere without regulations and lots of corruption. I remember that icewine thing where they were making all sorts of bullshit sweet wines in Austria or Germany and everyone was busted. In my part of the world it's a major thing to get busted lying or cheating. There are watchdog industries devoted to making sure they stay somewhat honest. I don't know what you mean pretentious organism.
You must be into the top 1% most amazing olive oils ever if you need to do all this sleuthing and detective work to ensure you're getting a good product.
I'm not ignorant for trusting the brands of olive oil on the shelves locally. They taste fine to me. And that doesn't mean I have some unrefined palate either. It's possible to be a snob. I've seen people discussing tea and shit here like that. You want to find some amazing unknown little mom and pop olive oil producer that doesn't know how good there shit is and only exports it to special people who know about it? Get to fucking traveling, pal. There's no way you can ever "be sure" it's not some catfishing con artist selling you something else. LOL
