like at the airport? Most stuff I've seen was comparable to any given mall with a mix of unique and known fastfood stalls and joints, maybe a bit more expensive.
If you talk Airplane food, damn that shit can be depressing

Yea, that's airport food for you. Gotta take that into consideration when planning for the day of. Next time try making some food the night before to eat before the flight.

Why did you feel this was a relevant thread to make? Airport food is just like mall food, there are several places to choose from and you went for the shittiest one by the looks of it. Make better choices.

What? At the airport you can buy whatever you want in the duty free zone and before the gates and there is no inclusive catering unless you have access to the upper classes lounges.

My cheap ass airline gives you a beverage and a small snack during short (less than 3 hour) flights. Other stuff you order and pay.

Had a cuban sandwich at an airport a few years back. It was good, but crazy overpriced. Never again, I'm just eating before I go.

Ok that's weird but is there nothing else to eat? Like I have flown from smaller airports, mostly on my flights back home but even in the most barren small island ones they had atleast a McDonalds or an at home version and as such I'v never even heard of the airline giving catering before the flight

You should just get an appetizer and get liquored up at the bar, then have a comfy nap on the flight.

I can tell you've never had a 5am departure.

Airport food has gotten better and better over the years. Prices worse, but there is usually a good capuccino and pastry available. There will be 1-2 local famous restaurants represented most of the time, esp for international connections. I have my favorites.

My most recent trip was last month, FTL-SJO roundtrip. In FTL, I had my cuban cortadito, jamon croqueta and guava and cheese pastelito before departure, with a big bottled water for my carryon. And upon return, my Britta local CR tall coffee and chocolate dipped coconut snacks. Upon leaving FTL, stopped at Flannigans, of course, on the ride home. I can tell you my favorites at nearly every US airport, and specific terminals both.

Lounge lizard here, life 1k. Lounge and onboard food has steadily declined since the 90's including Amex, Polaris and Air NZ/Sydney. Glad the restaurant scene has improved, unfort the rest is a horrorshow.

It wasn't always that way. Before they started to change in the 90s, airports had only a couple of places to get food and since they were often monopolies, the prices where insanely high while the quality was terrible. When a couple of airports were renovated, one of the selling points to get the city to invest was that they'd add a food court or something similar so there would be lots of competition. Some cities like Portland made it illegal for an airport location to charge more than a location in town.
Now most modern airports have a variety of restaurants and while they're often more expensive than the same food outside the airport, it's nowhere near as exploitive as it used to be.

Bobs is a Brazilian version of McDonald's. It was actually founded by an American entrepreneur in Brazil. It had existed since 1952, but it never became as popular as McDonald's or the later versions like burger king.

Never eaten Dunkin Donuts before. The donuts themselves are quite soft, but cold and probably made yesterday, although they are not greasy.

>never been that early on a flight
Once arrived on a flight at 4:30am. All I wanted was to find somewhere a bit quieter to sleep some more. Horrible journey. (Where I'd been and where I was going were both awesome, but the in-between sucked ass. Fuck you, Lufthansa.)

I had consumed a bunch of edibles right before passing through customs on my way home from Vegas, but I had to make a stopover in Chicago

i was tripping balls in the airport waiting for my flight and ended up at a chinese place where I proceded to eat a crapton of Orange chicken in some small mall-tier restaurant

it still remains as one of the singular most delicious meals I've ever had
