Growing up I knowticed only the gross kids ever put ranch on their pizza. The type of kids who would get red rings around their mouths from drinking cherry koolaid or eating spaghetti. It was an obvious indicator of being low class.
The only thing I ever use ranch for is vegetables.

I don't usually do this but I did it today and only for pepperoni pizzas. Some places use ranch for the sauce for certain toppings like vegetable or chicken/bacon and that's good too.

Ranch works if you're eating pizza that's mostly thick crust with barely any sauce or cheese, like frozen pizzas or pizzas from random places like gas stations. I don't see why you'd need to use it for normal fresh pizza, though. It's already rich, saucy, and cheesy, the ranch detracts from the experience. The crust, I get, but that's not the same. Even shitalian neapolitan style is quite greasy so I don't know why you "need" more. If you do this you're probably a 450lb obese (and gay) retard.
