Two of the great American sandwiches are Philly's Cheesesteak and Chicago's Italian Beef, but which is the superior one?

Chicago Italian beef, hands down. Better seasonings, the hot giardiniera, tons of flavor. Cheese steak is bland filler in comparison.

There’s no question the classic Philly blows Chicago out of the water. I’ve had both. I kinda feel bad for Chicago honestly. They’re never quite good enough. NYC pizza is vastly superior to Chicago style. And the Chicago style hotdog is beat out by multiple varieties. Nice city no disrespect. But they’re food just isn’t there

Italian beef. Giardiniera enhances the beef flavor while cheese covers it up. The cheese also adds calories to the point I feel bloated after eating one.

i live right next to philly and I go to philly a couple of times a year. I bring cheesesteaks back from steve's for my family usually. but cheesesteaks are dogshit and I'd sooner eat at mcdonalds. ive never had a chicago beef or whatever but it would have to be absolutely horrendous to be worse than the "best" cheesesteaks
