why don't we fry everything in butter?
I know there's some milk proteins or something in it that "burns" but I've honestly never tasted anything bad from it

we do

consensus seems to be to fry everything in oils or tallow and only using butter for low heat stuff or at the end of cooking a steak

Butter is shit for searing, otherwise great.

Nah son the trick is to use just enough oal so that the butter doesn't burn
I fry all my taters n butter

>Muh HECKIN smoke points!
I don't put any food in my pans until the oil starts to smoke. It does absolutely nothing, NOTHING to the flavor. Everyone is such a faggot, I swear

I've yet to burn butter and am thinking it's a myth. Shit just turns brown and delicious.

You can, for higher temps there's clarified butter or ghee which doesn't burn

yeah but I mean ordinary butter - with the milk solids
unless they break down to something that's bad for you, I don't see why people don't just fry with butter

Personally I stopped because I'm homeless now and olive oil is just so much easier to keep.

Your voting did this to me. I'm a decorated combat veteran. But let's keep sending Israel free missiles.

What's the coolest gun you shot

Oh that's a super easy question. The 240b. The m2 is a great gun but it's finicky in the desert. The mark 23 is fun but it took a literal act of Congress to use it when I was in under Obama. The 240b never failed me. Open face slap bolt design. You can fill that mothercucker up with sand and if will still fire. A 308 right at the hajis forehead your aiming at.

Yeah, for me, it's the 240b.

Anonymous No.21526225

It really isnt but if you ever do one of those Las Vegas machine guns things you should definitely ask for a 240b. It's a fun gun.

The gun Rambo runs around with in the first movie is a m60, the predecessor of the 240b

Unironically sneed oil propaganda. It used to be that butter was for Northern European food and olive oil was for Med food, then Crisco sponsored a huge number of doctored studies to show a link between butter and heart disease, encouraging people to use vegetable oil or shortening instead.

what do milk solids being a bit burned turn into that's so bad?
Anonymous No.21526637

Smoke point and oxidation have no correlation. Many fats start to oxidize and break down far below their smoke points, other can smoke and not noticeably degrade in quality.

Something super scary, I super promise.
By the way, please don't notice that we don't tell you that this happens with any seed oil. We make sure to only mention butter.

As the proteins break down, they can oxidize into free radicals which contribute to inflammation and atherosclerosis, as well as acrolein and acrylamide are generated when burning butter
Anonymous No.21526755 >>21526940
>>21526748
is it that much different than when you burn your steak a bit? it's only like 1% of the butter
Anonymous No.21526940
>>21526755
Burning steak is also bad for you because it also generates acrylamide.
Anonymous No.21527020
>>21526624
Probably acroleins that really do taste nasty and acrid at the least (and are probably bad for you) but unless you're "proper" frying you won't usually completely burn the shit out of it
