Texas Food
Seriously, how the fuck is this state full of so many culinary geniuses and delights?

First of all, Texas is home to many of the world's greatest foods:
-Tex-Mex
-Steak
-Barbeque
-Chicken-fried steak
-Chili
-Pecan pie
-Corndogs
-Frozen margaritas

And then there are all of the huge and top-rated food products and companies that come from Texas:
-Dr. Pepper
-Whataburger
-Blue Bell Ice Cream
-Church's Texas Chicken
-Chili's Grill & Bar
-Buc-ee's (food)
-Fritos
-Wingstop
-Shiner Beer
-Torchy's Tacos

I'm genuinely surprised that I never see anyone on /ck/ talking about this. This state should be praised for the advancements that it has made in food.

And for the record, I am not from Texas and have never lived there before. This isn't some biased opinion of mine, but an objective fact that can be proven with data.

Don't forget the Elder God of grocery stores.

P.S. I've been looking all tf over for Blue Bell's Banana Pudding flavor and no one has it. Supposedly it's not seasonal.

-Tex-Mex
>Valid
-Steak
>Not really a Texas thing, but we do have great steakhouses
-Barbeque
>Central Texas and Southern Texas style BBQ are the GOATs, this is undeniable.
-Chicken-fried steak
>Mid dish, sign of a deep southern trying to ride Texas' coattails on par with insisting iced tea should be sweetened
-Chili
>10/10
-Pecan pie
>10/10
-Corndogs
>Not really a Texas thing, and the over-the-top fair food culture we get from the State Fair is an example of our low culture. It is shameful, on par with good rats driving around Houston with swangas or meth heads in East Texas shooting each other over fent
-Frozen margaritas
>Truly great
I think you are missing a lot of other great Texan food styles here - Viet-Cajun really became a thing in Houston, the Norteno food in El Paso, Texan seafood dishes broadly, Texas German broadly, and the generally top quality tortillerias here
-Dr. Pepper
-Whataburger
-Blue Bell Ice Cream
-Church's Texas Chicken
-Chili's Grill & Bar
-Buc-ee's (food)
-Fritos
-Wingstop
-Shiner Beer
-Torchy's Tacos
>People only like these because they are le heckin Texan hyper marketed slop. All of these brands except the Spoetzl Brewery represent a hateful degredation of our culture and values. Eat real food, prepared at a good quality restaurant at home. Not slop from a mega corporate chain.

Texas was absolutely not the first place to make a steak....

Whataburger is corporate trash now. You can't get through the drive thru line in less than 15 minutes, the order is always wrong, and overall quality has gone to shit

It was the best fast food until two years ago. I’m not waiting forty minutes for a burger. I’d rather drive to the supermarket and make one myself.
