The US doesn't have small eateries the same way the UK does. Yeah they exist but the market is absolutely dominated by big corporation chain restaurants so you'll never hear of the small ones. And everything is so far spread out in the US, you can't just walk 5 minutes down the road to a local pub, thus making it even harder to find out about local places. Also much higher barrier for entry for small eateries in the US, our FDA is much more strict than European laws regarding food safety and minimums in place to be allowed to sell food (legally).

I think both restaurants in the US and US restaurant goers take themselves too seriously to get stuff like munchie boxes. This pic is from a fast casual ramen place that's in an absolutely terrible strip mall in a terrible location in a terrible little-mexico town. All that and they have suede backed barstools for fast casual ramen.
I think Americans go out to eat rarely enough that they expect every dining experience to be something special, and they're tipping too so they get to act entitled. I think for at least right now Americans are a little too self aware to large scale eat fried slop out of a cardboard box but with the way the economy is going it may become much more normalized as people drop their expectations.

Anon I work for a European company that designs food manufacturing equipment and sells it all over the world. The European designers won't even touch our equipment here in the US because of all the extra rules and regulations that have to be accounted for, we have to have our own US based design team to modify the equipment to be legal here.
You can argue whether our rules are "better" than those in Europe but I promise you we definitely have more.

A chain pizza is a munchie box with bread, cheeses, tomato, oil, salty meats, and veggies all bundled together in a way that helps it keep its heat for travel to the place where it's eaten and easily pulled apart to be sharable with others or eaten bit by bit yourself without the use of utensils.

It's foot traffic fast food without the drive thru, without a huge parking lot and the takeout 1,2,3 parking spaces, I feel.

Miami/S. Florida which has expat MAJORITY from the entire Caribbean and the Americas had food of every culture, and I'd argue the dozens, possible hundreds of neighborhood Fritangas is better than a munchy box menu. It a cross between fried foods to order, and hot serving trays of homey soups, rices, crispy apps, pastries, and fresh steaks, Nica food. They stuff a takeout box to the brim, where 1 dinner can feed 6 people, and you'll get fresh hot sauce and salsas or curtado slaws too. It's quite similar, and it might be Nica food, Venezuelan, uhh Dominican, or Cuban, whatever, it's all there.

Everything before this part was true. You might be a bit more accurate if you said local hygiene rules are somewhat more aggressively enforced since the UK has a weird system where you get a rating but don't have to display it visibly meaning places with actual shit in the food aren't easily distinguished from good quality places except by either word of mouth or online autism research but that's not something that comes from the FDA.

>And we may not be far behind, but England has a bit worse drinking culture. I know booze is tied to those "munchy boxes".
The UK 100% has a worse binge drinking culture than the USA. Among women particularly, nothing is as degenerate as young bong women on a night out.

>You can argue whether our rules are "better" than those in Europe but I promise you we definitely have more.
Europe also has a huge number of unnecessary and intentionally different rules and regulations. In both cases it's basically just protectionism by a different name. It started off as a good idea to preserve quality and standards but was abused after lobbying and to please individual countries to keep the federalisation project going. Ditto stuff like DPO where the super special historic region restrictions are regularly changed to increase manufacturing space.

This guy says he's a "MacMaster" referring to his affinity for Mac based designing. I don't want to show any shade frfr no cap but I don't think you can master any operating system that has been designed to be as easy to use as possible.. and it is.

I live in rural enough kansas the closest Walmart is over 30 miles it's so rural the only store on door dash here is fucking Casey's pizza and the orders don't even work on it. I live somewhere rural enough if you even tried to sell boxes like this everyone would ask why the fuck when they could just make it at home better lmao.
