>>21531661 >the third yolk might've been overkill, but I wanted it to look nice and symmetric
Its not symmetric, your triangle symmetry is a dumb isosceles that requires specific orientation of the plate. A bilateral symmetry of 2 yolks has at least 4 orientations it can be presented in front of the diner.
The fuck are those flakes, we don't really do uncooked beef in the US.

two yolks just don't look as good >The fuck are those flakes
salt flakes. Gives it a bit of a crunch without the salt being overpowering >we don't really do uncooked beef in the US
you're missing out

I eat raw beef all the time, not as a lazy meal though. little bit of ground beef as its going to the pan for tacos. Little chunk of beef from stir fry or guisada. Maybe slice a bit off a steak or brisket just to see how livery it is.
Eating raw beef with coarse salt isn't haute cuisine, its just being lazy.
>>21531777 >Eating raw beef with coarse salt isn't haute cuisine, its just being lazy.
not to mention, he has only 2 ingredients. Haute cuisine would have more flavor and texture, and a fresh herb at least.
OP confirmed for lazy and a tastelet. But, I think he knew his post was going to devolve into a flame thread.
Finally got the motivation to plan a full meal for myself for the first time in a while. Jerk chicken, coconut rice and beans, and a pineapple cabbage slaw. Delicious, with lots of leftovers for the week.

You're not going to find it at your local slophole, but it does exist in fine dining and "elevated" butchery farm to table places. I've only had it at some fancy place in DC, and it was a similar amount of beef, but only 1 yolk, but also mayo, onion or shallot, and herbs. And they did it table service style and mixed it all together.

Yeah, in Freedomville, we get a 98 ounce beer, a COOKED cheeseburger with a fried egg on it, 3 pounds of cheese fries, and a complementary salad (to throw away). Your plate of chopped liver simply isn't better.

I love steak tartare, but this is just raw beef with salt and way too much egg yolk. Where's the mustard, oil, dijon, capers or cornichons, shallots?
>>21534553 >>I love steak tartare so much i need all this extra stuff to make it palatable
Steak tartare is not just raw steak. Your comment is like saying someone should enjoy plain breaded chicken because they like chicken piccata.
>>21534636 >Plain breaded chicken is not great.
offense taken and wtf does plain even mean in this context because flour and salt are 95% of the battle
>>21534636
also how the fuck can you tell? are you eating undipped breaded chicken?
so whoa now lets get this right... you ordered PLAIN breaded chicken then refused condiments and say "not great", would you like some soup (hold the broth)?

Aren't the chunks of steak supposed to be smaller than that? Also, did you add any kind of sauces/capers/anchovies or is it just steak?

lovely. I forgot to nuke an egglant parm from my freezer, so just had a greek yogurt topped with banana and granola just now, so I could swallow my pills.
