Its not symmetric, your triangle symmetry is a dumb isosceles that requires specific orientation of the plate. A bilateral symmetry of 2 yolks has at least 4 orientations it can be presented in front of the diner.

The fuck are those flakes, we don't really do uncooked beef in the US.

salt flakes. Gives it a bit of a crunch without the salt being overpowering

tbqh the yolk isn't really needed either. But it's pretty lean beef so I wanted some fat with it

I eat raw beef all the time, not as a lazy meal though. little bit of ground beef as its going to the pan for tacos. Little chunk of beef from stir fry or guisada. Maybe slice a bit off a steak or brisket just to see how livery it is.

Eating raw beef with coarse salt isn't haute cuisine, its just being lazy.

not to mention, he has only 2 ingredients. Haute cuisine would have more flavor and texture, and a fresh herb at least.

OP confirmed for lazy and a tastelet. But, I think he knew his post was going to devolve into a flame thread.

You're not going to find it at your local slophole, but it does exist in fine dining and "elevated" butchery farm to table places. I've only had it at some fancy place in DC, and it was a similar amount of beef, but only 1 yolk, but also mayo, onion or shallot, and herbs. And they did it table service style and mixed it all together.

Yeah, in Freedomville, we get a 98 ounce beer, a COOKED cheeseburger with a fried egg on it, 3 pounds of cheese fries, and a complementary salad (to throw away). Your plate of chopped liver simply isn't better.

Steak tartare is not just raw steak. Your comment is like saying someone should enjoy plain breaded chicken because they like chicken piccata.

taste and texture depend a lot on the cut. Definitely worth trying
