Bacon was just $3.99 a pound. Get a freezer. Becoming fat by eating unhealthy goods using "I'm poor" as an excuse is no real excuse. You can have healthy meats, seafood, good cheeses and other dairy while still being a poorfag if you not act like a retard and buy good foods when they are on sale certain times of the year.

You should know when ribs, ground beef, steaks, corned beef brisket, turkey, fish, hams, pork amd lamb ribs and chops go on sale. It's all around holidays.

Cheese is expensive so yeah forget that, but bacon isn't bad and it's worth it. Remember to collect the liquid fat from the pan afterward, put it into an empty jar or whatever. It stays good for a very long time and you can use it like butter pretty much, very useful for adding flavor and some nutrition to basic meals.

Also, I am given tons of bison ribeyes, steaks, scallops, shrimp, cheeses, prepared food from Wegmans at weekly food distributions around my town. I make around 600k a year but I still get free frozen food from drops. Don't have to do anything. Just show up. >Poverty Meal Thread
Here's mine:
My lazy + need to grocery shop meal, is a fake alfredo kind of plan.
While a box of pasta boils, I make a pan of melted butter, chopped garlic, add flour to turn it into a roux, then milk or cream to thicken. Once the bechamel is done, I raid the cheese drawer for a couple slices of cheese, or use some parm-romano. Black pepper, dried herbs, fresh basil or rosemary, etc.
In a separate nonstick, additionally, you can create a topping to the sauced pasta. Heat olive oil +garlic, or even oil plus shallot, soften or brown if you like, add in fresh or packaged breadcrumbs, italian blend herbs, sundried tomatoes, olives, anything that goes nicely with olive oil. Serve crunchy browned bread topping on top of sauced pasta for texture. Very coarse breadcrumbs are even nicer.
There IS some kind of italian term for "oil and sand pasta" to describe the breadcrumb topping technique, but I forget the name.

Sometimes I use chicken gizzards to make chicken noodle soup. Ingredients are cheap and simple. Chicken gizzards boiled (obviously) carrots, onion, garlic, celery, carrots. Cook macaroni noodles separately, stain and blanch them. Chicken gizzards are very cheap, as for the other ingredients you can grow them for pennies. If you cant grow them hit up Aldi's for the carrots , onion, celery, and garlic. Also use salt and pepper at your own discretion.

you should invest in blocks of Parmesan reggiano and a cheese grater. And cheap baguettes and italian loaves if you can find them. At the moment you can just eat Aglio e Olio over and over

I made some soup mix for easy sundubu-jjigae. Initial start up cost with the pepper flakes is higher but a lot of the ingrediants I can use for other stuff so I don't mind. It made 10 servings of the spice mix. After that I only need to buy cheaper silken tofu. I can comfortably make two soups from one tofu package. The tofu is usually on sale for like a dollar at my grocery store too so the whole meal is around $1 or so. Its nice and I feel kinda fancy/it changes things up a bit. I might start looking to more easy to make meals like this and keep things for them on hand.
