Burger King, Wendy’s, and McDonald’s are all exactly on par with each other. So exactly equal in quality that I cannot state a blanket preference for one over another. Rather, the choice between the three will center on a ratio between distance to get there and what I’m in the mood for at the moment.

On a per-item basis, we can make some judgements:
>Wendy’s has the best burgers
>Burger King has the best chicken
>McDonald’s has the best fries & coke
In situations where distance to each restaurant is roughly equal, these sub factors will usually determine my choice. I normally will crave only one specific fast food item, e.g. a burger, and this factor will be weighted more heavily against other foods that are not the primary focus of the craving, e.g. fries.

I will use wendys more just to try and get a free item when I buy a $2 frosty, I did get a chicken sandwich from the points on the app and it was good minus the pickles which must have been soaking in dirty mop water. never had that happen until then

Only McDonald's uses a small number of high grade American beef suppliers. BK imports cheaper beef from Brazil while Wendy's gets theirs from Tyson (the walmart of meat). If you're looking for quality ingredients then you're looking for McDonald's. If you feel daring and don't mind a little mystery meat in your burger, Wendy's and BK are your best bet.

If the food is freshly made and hasn’t been sitting around it’s the best of all burger chains. The Japanese have a special appreciation for Burger King because they prepare it properly and everything is fresh. This is the way it was in the U.S. 25 years ago

That's weird to me, because when I lived in Japan I thought BK was the only fast food chain that tasted exactly the same in Japan as it did in America. I'd go there once in a while when culinary homesickness would hit me. I guess maybe it tasted the way it did when I was a kid and not the way it does in the US now, though.

On a maybe related note, over the years I've noticed a weird phenomenon where I always remember BK being better than it actually is. I've mentioned this to friends and they've agreed too. I don't know if it's just continually going downhill or what.
