I didn't know that and that's stupid. It's not really even that specifically Japanese except they add a little fish or so i sauce. It's white fish and vegetables in broth.
What do you think that green vegetable is by the way? Courgette?

Yeah definitely zucchini. Maybe they dried it on purpose for some reason.

Britain is and island, but it's big enough that before modern transportation and refrigeration it wasn't really practical to bring fish inland. People from coastal parts of England and much of Wales and Scotland always ate plenty though, and saying "they eat very little fish" now is kind of ridiculous considering the popularity of fish and chips.

It's not that bad, the clear liquid is probably dashi and the sauce mixture (probably soy sauce + mirin and maybe sake or vinegar because that's every Japanese recipe) looked almost equal in volume. Cooking the onions in the pot before adding the liquid should do a decent amount too. It's not gonna be a gigantic explosion of flavor like Korean food or some Western cuisines but it should be pretty tasty.

>thinks shitting on weebs means you can't like anime
Childish mentality. Would you be whining about this being an anime website if he was shitting on crappy japanese work culture or their awful defamation laws instead of making a handwaving a vid making a big to-to about a small pot of fish soup?
Maybe you would, that's the difference between a weeb and someone who just likes anime. Weebs are a cancer even if tourists misuse the term.

Precision and purpose. Someone who knows what they're doing and goes about it with skill without being flashy like some street vendor who's done it a billion times and is bored with it.

Like the whole video, essence of Japan. Simple but elegant that most people would take as pretension.
