People went nuts for this chocolate here abaout a year ago.
Prices went up to irrational levels and even at Lidl (a discounter grocery chain store in Germany), Dubai Chocolate was sold out constantly for about three month in a row.
Turned out scalpers bought these chocolates up on palletts and re-sold them for more than double the price.
Now, one year later, no one blinks an eye at these chocolates anymore. Trend is over.
I may try one, now as the dust has settled.
Can anons recommend me one of the thousands of brands that make/sell these?

The original version used high quality ingredients. The mass produced ones are mainly sugar, flavourings and other filler ingredients.
I've tried homemade 'Dubai' chocolate and it isn't bad, but I'm not sold on the texture. I make my own much nicer chocolate and nut concoctions. It definitely isn't worth the mark-up for the mass-produced versions. Good Galaktoboureko, Kunafe, portokalopitta or Ekmek-Kataifis are a much better use for the pastry.

Another Food meme fueled by influencers
The summer's Boba Tea.
Some sweet thing boys who like girls can get them to seem like they pay attention to stuff she likes.
Dubai is having a moment because it's like if Miami was in Singapore and Muslim and that attracts a lot of people whose whole goal is to launder money by going "I'm an influencer" while 10 million euros are moved through your "business" representing a monetary transaction for ecstasy taking place in Greece.

Sure there are some arms deals and fraud schemes, but ultimately the biggest black market driver is drugs.

Protip make the pistachio butter from scratch. It's not hard, it just takes a lot of time. It will seem like it's staying gay and course but after 9000 hours it becomes a butter. I barely added any sugar to mine so it wouldn't clash with the chocolate.
Also, I bought phyllo dough, sliced it as thin as possible, and toasted it in a pan.
Mixed it all up with some tahini and it was a god tier filling. Stayed crunchy even in the bag for days and days. Made yummy chocolates
I tried the storebought versions from like 2 different sellers and they were TERRIBLE. Make it yourself
