No, you want to coat that with a batter to help keep it moist and protect it. If you aren't exact with the frying time the bones and joints disconnect which can cause a mess. It's not a good way to cook chicken anyways, I prefer baking or in a pan with a light coating of canola. I've had Kentucky and Maryland fried chicken but I don't eat the batter. It's the unhealthiest part and tastes nasty and oily. No, that's not one you want to be eating.
