You all ever just bake a tray of creatures you found in the mud at the beach?

Clams. Yes.

Update: the creatures were delicious, except for the large reddish one, which tasted like mud/shit. The mud arks (the rest of the tray) were all good, ironically, despite living in mud. Like denser mussels.

Not even once, no. Those things look like they grew in algae and not clean oyster beds. Even oysters can have vibrio now. Would. not. eat. Are you sure your havesting spot is clean waters?

You only need to purge them multiple times with salinated water in 30-40 minute increments until the water runs clear plus 1 more for good luck

I had them in clean water for 24 hours. Don't think me a savage.

These are from the pristine beaches of my own island home off the East Coast of Australia. They naturally get algae and seaweed growing off their protruding shell tips while they sit half buried in the sand, which is how you find them.
