Who is buying all this awful food?

Subway has been garbage for at least ten years. Mcdonalds is so bad you wouldn't even eat it if you were drunk. I was looking at youtube comments on a video about KFC and they were all saying about how they try it every few years only to remember that it sucks

Yet these companies persist. How is it even possible that you can go to a place, eat there, know it is terrible food, read comments online from people that have had exactly the same experience as you, but you drive past a mcdonalds restaurant and notice the full car park as if it is a parallel universe where mcdonalds is worth buying? How does any of this make any sense at all?

I don't know either. It's sad. Cooking for yourself is where it's at. Fast food is for road trip emergencies.

kfc is the one that truly mystifies me
subway i am a bit skewed because i live in connecticut and subway got crazy in connecticut with like 6 stores per square mile which maybe created competition (between themselves lol) and maybe got fresher ingredients
but kfc i will never understand how they remain in business because it is expensive as all fuck and the absolute worst quality

A lot of places removed home economics from the curriculum while the Me generation were too busy looking after themselves instead of teaching their children any skills. Thousands of generations of knowledge cut, a completely broken chain. The vast majority of people do not know how to cook, their skills are literally limited to opening the microwave then pressing start, and are thus dependant on this sort of thing.

>someone else must have taken it lol give me 10 minutes to make a new one
Has happened multiple times for me, I don't even pay for it online so they either had to pay for what I ordered or steal it, makes zero sense.

I ate subway in college and got so sick of it I haven't touched it since. The ingredients are too subpar. I haven't had kfc in fifteen years, but I still remember it as being greasy and cheap.

That's literally the last time I ate at mcdonalds, and after I finished eating I wished I had just continued starving.

Bzzt, that's where you're wrong bucko. Not about it being absolute shit, but about no one eating it because it's bad. I can get a few burgers and a coffee for relatively cheap so for me and other blue collar types it's an obvious choice for lunch while at work.

It's the only place near me that has fresh vegetables besides the supermarket.
Unfortunately the last time I was there it took them over 10 minutes to make my sandwich, so I haven't been back.

Poor people live from paycheck to paycheck. That's it. If they buy anything decent they're fucked. Not just for the month, for the entire coming year.

Kids. The kids like it and they don't nag. It's handy for once. She says twice a week. Single mom.

Tourists. Why go through the trouble of finding a decent restaurant in Paris, Brugzs, Venice or Brisbane? It's handy for once (all day, every day, everywhere).

Pic related. They're not actually purchasing the prepared food but they are enabling the businesses to continue.

Saves them time by grabbing the sub made for you. Unless you have terrible taste, they're happy with what they got without spending much time to get it.

they told me their subs were more spicy now, they aren't. they told me their subs were made of higher quality meat now, they aren't. plus, too expensive. still, the girls that work there are often kinda cute and it's the only way i can get a woman to fix me a sandwich

>I can get a few burgers
It got me that you referred to their "burgers" as "burgers".
As someone who regularly grills burgers for dinner, the thought of calling a McDonald's "burger" a "burger" is pretty out there.
Just seems so off. I'm struggling to think of an apt analogy.

There are two whole generations that think that fast food is normal food. I talk to a lot of people about food and it's insane how normies think I'm the weird one for only eating fresh produce and locally farmed meat. These people are so normalize by processed food they don't blink twice.

Hmmm, must be where you live. Most rednecks i've know have large gardens, can and preserve their food, hunt wild game/fish, raise their own chickens and the like. Or maybe there is a difference between 'rednecks' and 'country folk'. Most of the time i see people eating slop its townies.

>comments on a video about KFC
Here is the 411. The story of KFC is that Col Sanders invented his pressure cooker-fryers. This was the first FAST friend chicken in the business. Why is it fast? The hot oil is driven under the skin and right down to the bone, in and out of the chicken flesh to cook faster. Chicken tastes a good 25 minutes for a breast without the special fryers. That is exactly why people find it greasy and get tummy aches, the pressure of frying oil. Ick. Why do people still like it, the original recipe 11 herbs and spices. They also have a bargain price of a bucket.

They do help, and its all hands on deck for about a month during harvest of the garden. Women do a lot if the prep work, these women are actually worth something. Men end up doing at least half the processing part. The hunting/butchering, prep and processing are usually done by the men. Long nights over a couple weeks. Produces ground meat, sausages, steaks, roasts, etc.. those nights usually entail tall tales and good amount of beer and whisky. Lol some of it homemade. Builds community as well. I get lots of free canned produce and meats for the freezer and canned soups and the like for helping out. The stuff you all buy at farmers markets are the discarded stuff. Also most of these men are good cooks and the women most definitely know there way around the kitchen. The homemade bread is enough to have me help when i can.
