The UK is now encouraging egg producers to sell eggs in packs of ten.

Has wherever you are done this transition already? Is it annoying? How do you even cook with only 10 eggs at a time?

Wow they really went overboard with the metric system thing.

The already sell 6 packs at most groceries. This is just part of the downsizing, from 16oz/1lb boxes to 12oz and 10oz, so people don't notice the inevitable price hikes. It's deceptive and can mess with recipes that call for a pound of pasta. But, for eggs, it's just logistics in supplies for cartons and crates and other packaging. I doubt it will catch on.

6 packs are for people living alone, who only eat eggs once every 2 or 3 days.

A half dozen is fine, if you're just making a cake or pie or something small. But having to now having to go to wholesalers to buy in "bulk" or being forced to buy more than is necessary for a meal is going to be a real pain in the bum.

A nice family of four. So three eggs each in an omelette. Its not unreasonable, considering these are just regular chicken eggs and not American hormone filled monster hens that shit out something that looks like it belongs to an ostrich.

10 packs have been available for over a decade, you have had your head buried in the sand, the usual amount is 6 but you can buy them in lots of combinations, 6, 15. 30, etc.

I guess you just wanted to start a thread?

it isn't ten now? here in Poland eggs are in boxes of 10 for as far as I remember. If you want to buy more there are 20 or 30 packs.

Breakfast for the average family of amerisharts. But that aside 10 is an objectively inferior number to 12 because 12 is a superior highly composite number and thus has the most whole integer factors (you can divide it by 2, 3, 4 and 6 vs just 2 and 5 for 10). Metric is shit because they picked retarded bases.

Going from 12 to 10 would make absolutely no difference to my life whatsoever.

most common sizes have always been 6 and 10 here in germany
if you need 12 just buy 2x6, instead of being limited to buying 12, 24, 36 ... you can buy 6, 10, 12, 16, 20, 24, 30, 32, 36 ...

or you can go to a market and buy the exact number of eggs you want
