Oh, I just purged a bunch of things to the trash. They were all 1 year or more expired, but I'm looking for shelf space, not to be wastefu. Probably it was all fine.
They all used to have like 6 year expiration dates. (Goya still does). Something changed a few years ago to keep them between 1-2 years.
I'm sure it's safe for a recipe right now. If you can't run to the store right now, here's what I would do: carefully open it without shaking. When you broke the seal, there was no positive pressure or, outgas, or burp, right? Inspect the surface tension for any mold or something off color. Sniff test. Taste for metallic. I'm sure it's fine. Enjoy.
