Sort of. Vegetables natually absorb toxic chemicals and biological pathogens in the environment, and being eaten raw transfer them directly to the eater. The solution to that however is just to not grow your food in sewage. Unlike livestock where biological vectors are an unavoidable part of the process, you have to go out of your way to contaminate crops.
