Brie with maple syrup and honey taste so good!
Anonymous No.21545230
Will try that next time even though those coatings are pretty unhealthy. That's an insane amount.

>needs to slather his cheese in maple syrup and honey to desperately cover up the penicillin and mold smell.

You are just ruining cheese
Do you put ketchup on cake?
Caramelized onions on ice cream?
Bizarre combo

I tried both (prefer honey) on mozzarella but never had both together on a Brie cheese.

people put honey on things like feta and mozzarella all the time, i'm European.

it tastes good
brie also tastes good but slathering it in such overpowering sweetness should only be reserved for slop-tier cheese

The thing about brie is you have to wait a long time before you can eat it or else it's tasteless.

For me? A simple chutney for my cheeses, likely fig, cranberry or chilli

Also a lot of people outing themselves as uncultured tastelets not knowing about the sweet+brie pairing

Never got the appeal too. Lingonberry or fig jam is one thing but pure sugar only is just odd.

you cheese dorks are like wine dorks but cool so tyvm :3

Why both? Either one is more than enough sugar and distinct flavor. Gross. Brie with some berries is one thing. Just syrup and honey doesn't work.

I prefer the route of a slice of good bread, a spread of garlic confit, then the brie, all topped with a sprinkle of fleur de sel.

You can mix honey and maple syrup? I never tried that. I didn't even know you could so that. What happens?

I worked in a 3 Michelin stars restaurant.
We were cutting a brie de melun in 2 sideways and stuffing with mascarpone and fresh truffle shavings..

That stuff was just amazing

OP here. I dont slather it. I drizzle nicely. also add salt.
It tastes so freaking good. Still cant decide if it tastes better when the cheese is cold or warm.
