I get my meals reimbursed when traveling so I'll go there 3-4 times a month for free. And I use the app when ordering so I get points on my account so at home I'll sometimes stop by if I have enough points to make things extremely cheap.

They need to be no more than $7. And that's not going to happen because they've become too greedy. Dominos and the Hut offer medium pizzas for $7. You can still get a footlong for $7. $7 at a gas station gets you corndogs and chicken strips and a burrito.

The 'golden arches' are not worth the $12.50 their combo meals actually cost.

And I assure you their new discounts are dependent on installing and using their app. I can only guess the permissions it requires.

I worked at mcshits when I was a teenager and right when they made me a manager I ditched them. Being a manager I got to see some of the books and I still remember to this day a cheeseburger cost them $0.35 in materials (including the wrapper) to make and at that time cheeseburgers were selling for $0.99. their goal at that time was 90 seconds from when the order was placed in drive through to when it was delivered into the customer's hands. Grill time to assemble the burger was 30 seconds. So I would bet that even after overhead and labor was added on they were still making at least $0.25/burger.

Idr exact ingredient cost but for some reason I seem to think reg meat patties (the small burger patties, I think 1/10lb?) were $0.10 or $0.12. Considering a mcdouble was only one additional patty they were likely still making probably $0.10-.15/burger.

So I highly doubt it was actually losing money. I was there before the mcdouble was "invented" so this would have been around the timeframe it came out.

Went to red robins today and they had a double tavern burger with endless sides and drinks for 9.99 and the chili's qp to go is also 10.99 and comes with a starter as well.
