Steak n' shake doesn't have a logo that has a creepy redneck leaning on a barrel looking evil and smug, like he's plotting to rape his niece and organize a Klan rally. So of course they don't need to change it.
I'm not some wokie but the original cracker barrell logo is simply tacky and unappealing. Why are his legs crossed? What's with his pose. Actually he looks like a fag scoping out other guys at the local cruising spot. The original logo is poor designed, clunky and asymmetrical.

I do not see that anywhere. Most young people(I assume you're talking about gen z and younger) engage with the world in ways that are completely alien to old world charm and have a vehement hatred for boomers and things associated with boomers.
They should try to appeal to millennials and gen x, though I guess minimalist trash and alphabet-pandering is popular with millennials. Gen x are just a stone's throw away from boomers so it would have been an easier pivot, but I'm guessing they wanted a bigger demographic even if it's one that is opposed to what they have come to be known as.

The more of the old timey toys they started getting rid of, the worse the place became. There is absolutely NOTHING differentiating their food from literally any other diner, even the fast food ones like Denny's and IHOP. The ONLY draw of cracker barrel is the atmosphere and the novelty shop. Remember those little toy weasel things that like, rolled around a ball all crazy and were super dope when you were a kid? Yeah, I got stoked when we'd go to cracker barrel just so I could look at those little things rolling around.
Turning this place into another globohomo, sanitized fully corporate entity will just run it fully into the ground. It won't be a good place to take your kids, it won't be a place that grandma, or when she dies, your aging mother will want to go anymore. Yes, it was always a corporate chain restaurant, but the whole charm is the veneer of a mom and pop old diner. Remove that veneer, and try to let the food stand on its own? It's just another overpriced shit hole no one wants to go to, no one wants to pay thirty bucks for some pancakes and eggs.

i live in florida and old white people have the lowest fucking standards when it comes to food. there's a reason so many shitty restaurants manage to thrive here. boomers think good price = good food. outside of cities like tampa, any place with decent internet reviews will have most reviews mentioning how "good the value" is - IE, relatively cheap. thus, internet reviews are largely useless there. that combined with the boomer pallete means it can be a pain in the ass to find decent restaurants there.
