I know you all are just memeing but the real reason to use unsalted butter is because salt is a preservative, so by using unsalted you are ensuring you're buying something fresh and not something that has been sitting in a manufacturer warehouse for a few months before shipping.

Not every brand of butter uses the same amount of salt. Overall I don't think it makes that much of a difference but it's more consistent to use unsalted butter.

This hasn't really been a concern since refrigeration. The amount of salt needed to function as a proper preservative is ~10x what you'll find in modern salted butter.
