Probably set the kitchen on fire once and subsisted off cereal and microwaved meals thereafter instead of dealing with their lack of skill.

Another self diagnosed "condition" to excuse their inability to do something basic that doesn't immediately trigger dopamine kickbacks.

I worked at a restaurant that once hired a guy that was "fearful of uncooked food".
He had applied to be a cook and it never hit him that he'd be seeing raw foods. Even shit like dough and just cheese blocks made him sick.
Dude worked 3 shifts, vomited in 2 of them, and all 3 were cut short because he had to go home.

I remember the first time i cooked something. I was like 10, told my dad that i was hungry, he told me to make some noodles, i said that i was scared of getting burned, he told me to stop being a pussy and refused to cook for me so i had no choice but to slowly and carefully make them myself. Clearly the guy in the OP didn't have a father figure growing up
>>21550948 (OP) >get praised on the Internet for performing a simple task as long as you present yourself as having some mental dysfunction that boils down to "I could never do this before because I really didn't want to!"
The Internet encourages weak people to develop these stupid fake mental disorders so they can cash them in for easy attention and praise.

As long as he kept his responsibility and didn't yell at/punish you if you actually fucked up stuff in the kitchen I can see this as a good thing.
If he was just a lazy fuck and expected a 10 year old to not make a mistake that could cost him something he's just a bad parent.

I assume it was microwaving ramen noodles or at most boiling spaghetti. Something a 10 year old should be able to do. Like fractions and long divisions are harder than that shit.
>>21551009
Oh no he's one of the hardest working men i've ever known. The whole time i could see him looking at the kitchen, probably ready to help me if i actually got hurt (although i didn't think that at the time)

My school luckily had a required home economics class. Everyone had to learn to cook, sew clothes, and do basic gardening.
I can't imagine growing up without these basic skills. My little brother is going through that same school now and home ec is gone but they do have literal kitty litter boxes in the bathrooms for the furry kids.
World is fuck.

I'm thinking more like the handling of the equipment like a pot of hot water. I'm sure a 10 year old can functionally do all the steps but if you've never poured hot spagetti/noodles into a colander in the sink and it splashes some hot drops of water on your hands I would expect a 10 year old to adhere to his reflexes and surprise and perhaps drop the thing so it dents another thing or the floor. Perhaps gets hot water on something on the counter. It's probably not a disaster but some parents will lose their shit if kids damage something even if it was by their own "orders".

I was thinking like make a pack of instant ramen in a pot. >>21551025
Woah this would never happen in the European country I live in. >>21551009
Why do you have to make negative assumption?

The only phobia I have that I can think of and it's like a rational fear so I'm not even sure if it counts but chainsaws and heavy machinery scare me.
>>21551018
Your lucky. My parents were those kind that expect a 6 year old to be perfect at everything off the bat and then beat you when you need help.

I only really was able to get in to cooking when I moved in to my own place and before that I would experiment with dishes when my mom was on holiday. She would go in to a demonic rage whenever I tried using the kitchen for some reason. The first thing I made when I moved in to my own apartment was Shrimp tagliatelle in Amaretto sauce. I was like oh maybe this is why I was never allowed to cook if I learned to do it myself I would realize how fucking shit bland and overcooked my mom's dishes are.
i hate to say it but fear of cooking is reasonable compared to most """"phobias"""" because doing it wrong can hurt you or burn your house down if youre extra retarded

Whats funny is that these guys are so scared of everything but stop being afraid when they're getting showered in 5000 meaningless internet points. These kinds of posts literally never get deleted.
Reddit is the most delusional userbase. It's literally all trannies and obese people that would have 0 signs of depression of they ate healthy and got sunlight.
>>21550948 (OP)
retardation, no proper role model to teach them cooking, etc.. I know a woman who is so afraid of cooking meat she basically just eats vegan shit and occasion take out.

Honestly it's crazy what happened to Reddit used to be such a nice website before they started banning all the "bad" subs. Same thing happened to Twitch. >>21551183
Tbf I burned the toaster like at least 5 times growing up while I was watching TV in the living room. The only scary thing about cooking is leaving your kitchen unattended.
Something that isn't real. Something redditors make up and post for attention. Something other redditors take a screencap of and post on 4chan for attention. Go back.
