Elvis was *getting* fat by the time of his death, but by modern standards, he's basically like an average middle aged American man.
If you watch his last show (available on youtube), he's still extremely light on his feet, and moves around a ton. He really gives performance his all. The average Elvis impersonator shtick where he stands still and looks lazy and lethargic is not accurate. The man would have gotten a significant 2 hour+ workout almost every day.
He reminds me of Jack Black for being a fairly big guy who's still very nimble and can move around a lot.
And in his residency, he'd give something like 7 shows a week. His work schedule was insane. He also was very active in practicing karate and would give that several hours a week.
He ate like a glutton and took prescription drugs like candy (all kinds, uppers, downers, barbituates, opiates, etc)... but with his lifestyle, it IS amazing he wasn't a 350lbs+ ultrafat.
But his eating habits are absolutely legendary gluttony. The man lived hard in all respects. I suspect he could give most competitive eaters a run for their money.
