Pizza Hut
I'm Canadian and I honestly don't know how can this chain be so popular and so terrible. It's so expensive. I literally cannot spend less than $25 for a meal at Pizza Hut. It's salty. It's greasy. Nothing about the pizza feels real. It barely tastes like pizza. Every store feels dark and dingy with a bunch of sad looking Jeets working there. It's pathetic.

Dominos and Papa John's are not great either but they are in a different league compared to this abomination of a restaurant/corporation.

is it really popular still? I feel like the last time I went to a pizza hut was like the mid 2000s

You nailed it. They'll offer $10 medium deals but they're SO sparse with the cheese and toppings. By the time you double up on everything and make the pizza actually good you have spent so much you could've gotten a quality local pizza. If you just want greasy bread that has a short window of edibility, go for the Hut, by all means. I'd have to be hammered to find it appealing at all. It'd have to be the only place open. Gross.

Im lucky because there are several other chains/local places that are open later than P*zza H*t. Hence my confusion. How does it continue to exist? It's genuinely a terrible product at a terrible price.

they prioritize opening restaurants in places without competition. i think they're kept in float by suburban and rural areas.

I remember when the restaurants were sit down with red velvet seats and low hanging lamps. Their buffalo wings had a unique, great taste sort of like chicken thighs. Maybe a salad bar too?

I haven’t gone since I was a kid since it’s got so nasty. I enjoy red swan lately because there are poppy seeds on the crust

>Red Swan

They're alright. Slow service in my experience though.

around here they all left their original buildings, the ones with a roof shaped like their logo, and moved into strip malls with a few tiny tables and stopped being a real restaurant.

they went from being one of two pizza restaurants to being 1 of like 13 pizza express places like dominos, little caesers ect. which seems pretty retarded.

Nasty. The sweet sauce, the lack of generosity with toppings. There's always only one bit of each topping per slice. For every topping you add you get less of it. It's the most cheapskate pizza they make. And it's TERRIBLE the next day. There is no reheating method that makes it okay.
People who like pizza hut just haven't experienced good pizza or they have really low standards of what pizza is supposed to be.
I have this optimism and hope for humanity and then I realize just how different people are and how many of them are totally fine with, even happy about things like the quality of food at pizza hut.

I'm old enough to remember a time when Dominos was pretty good pizza. And even way back then Pizza Hut was garbage. They've never been good. Maybe if you're loaded and watching football and you get an absolutely fresh pan pizza right out of the oven, I can see that working out. But the stars have to align just perfectly.

I can get a medium pepperoni pizza + 4 20oz drinks for $15-16 from my local pizzahut which easily feeds 2 adults.

Or two medium 1 topping pizzas for $16-17, which can feed 3-5 adults.

3 medium 1 topping pizzas + 4 20oz drinks for $30 which can easily feed 4-6 adults.

Pizzahut only gets expensive when you start going for multiple toppings since they charge like $2 each.

Yeah, it comes down to the fact that most people just have really bad taste. My family never had shit like chilis, applebees etc, so when I did try them for the first time I couldn't believe people actually ate that garbage on a regular basis. Most americans will eat whatever trash gets dumped in front of them.

it's not the best pizza but it's perfectly good pizza, though their bigfoot pizza that they sold in the 90's was probably the best pizza they ever made.

there's something nostalgic about their pan pizza, the one with the crust soaked in oil. brings back a lot of memories when we would go there, and there were lots of other people there, video game machines, and they had actual waitresses that brought pitchers of soda to your table.

I have a place I get pizza from called stevie's. but every once in a while we get a pizza hut pizza.

applebees is shot no matter where you go, but chilis is on a case by case basis. the one near my house makes good food. just like garcias. the one near my old house was shit. but the one near my current house is really good. outback on the far side of town is meh. the one near me is really good. inb4 you have bad taste.

you don't know me.
