Raw briskets are $5-12/lb, lose roughly half their weight during cooking, and sell for $24/lb cooked in my area. It's almost economical to buy the finished product

not tipping is on the same level faux pas as spitting in someone's face. it's extremely embarrassing, especially in a restaurant that you're ever going to return to. It signals that you are either poor, miserly, or are doing it to intentionally spite the server.

>you can make it less expensive by simply not tipping
Americants have to tip, it is literally a key component of their culture.
When they give a tip, they do it in remembrance of the tip that was taken from them shortly after their birth. It is in effect a symbol of their communal struggle that they unite under. If they do not tip, then they must acknowledge what it means to be tipless. Thus the tip for the food acts as a sacrificial offering in a spiritual sense that some day in the future all their tips will be restored and they were not lost in vain.

There was this awkward moment in 3rd grade where a girl (who had two kids by 20 despite being in an upper middle class neighborhood) made a statement in class "children should be seen not TOUCHED" and I said "what's wrong with being touched, I like when people touch me"
It was like that South Park episode where they're trying to figure out what "Molestered" means. I really was 9 at that point.
She was one of the first people who unfriended me, but was still friends with my mom for some reason. We were just so different even though we grew up together because ultimately where I was sheltered from the concept, she was molested.
I think a lot of it has to do with that, my friend who skews to the right of me has a sister who got molested and he gets really worked up about sexuality sometimes even though he's a whorefucking john and i've really only pimped and hustled.
But I learned about child molestation during the second MJ trials because it was comedy gold in Middle School when I still had the puberty voice and even then I thought it was just someone violently grabbing your crotch.

Yet another meme food that trendy white people have blown up out of proportion and now all the restaurants know they can bend us over the table on price because there will always be another gullible faggot desperate to try the latest tiktok trend at any cost. It is culinary gentrification.

>>21556874
If you dont tip they will fuck with your food, and more and more places are having you pay before servi e so they can see your tip. I went to a fast casual teriyaki bowl place last week and the girl at the cash register, who only takes your order and hands a bag to you, turned the POS around and asked for a tip. I hit $0.00 and you could immediately see "that" look on her face. I sat down while waiting for my food and could overhear the half ddozen zoomers in back chatting. One of them asked the cash register girl whether she got a tip and she said "No I guess i didnt do my job well enough." Then they were all quiet for a moment before going back to laughing and chatting.
She gave me my order and of course "forgot" to put my sides in there. I just threw that shit in the trash, not going to risk whatever bodily fluids they put in my meal.

I've never used an offset grill before, just been grilling with charcoal. I'm about to get myself one.
Given that there's nothing directly under the meat, what do people usually do with the drippings? Specially those gigantic bbq restaurants? I feel like the oil will make for an amazing stir fry, or anything fried really.
I've always wanted to find a way to save the drippings while grilling, usually leaving half of the grill with no charcoal and leaving a pan down there. Now, with an offset grill, I can save all the drippings I want.
Would keeping the oil inside the grill somehow ruin something? What if I just very slight tilt the grill and punch a hole at the bottom, enough to let the oil flow out into a pan?

Tipping is fine, but forced 20%+ amerimutt tipping is simply the employer passing the cost of staff to the customer

Personally, when I tip, I like knowing the money going to the whole staff, but most importantly the chef, who made the fucking food. Not the dish handler who gets paid handsomely in my country anyway

There's no obligation to tip in America. Its just considered to be good manners if the service was good.
Youre free to not tip, but i wouldnt not tip a server and then continuously go back to the same place. Your service would likely be much worse because you developed a reputation for not tipping.
And before you say "well just get rid of it and pay the waiters fairly"; that has been tried many times in many states. Often, its waiters and servers who protest against it. Cash tips are under the table money, the government cant collect taxes on cash tips if theyre not reported. So servers and waiters prefer it that way because even though some nights they may not make a lot, other nights they may make their whole month's rent.
