But aren't you the guy who hates the app for similar reasons? Apologies if you're not. I'm just not going to do it. I don't think it's a fair trade off and it's never as simple as just blocking or unsubscribing to their emails. They share the address with other companies. Once you give it to any of them your address is fucked. LOL, yeah, just get another SEPARATE email for offers and shit. Nope. I'm not afraid of it, I just think it's a bullshit tradeoff. I also don't play modern videogames for the same reason.
It doesn't matter how much they push you or what they take from you, does it? You'll always go for the "free" thing tradeoff. Where I am and what sites I visit using my computer is not already public information. I'm not sure you even know how it works.
They don't hijack your microphones and cameras and shit, but I doubt that would bother you much either given enough gradual moves in that direction. People already have online devices set up listening at all times for you to do some lazy shit like yell out for it to tell you the time or the weather or something. For that "convenience" you've essentially set up a bug in your house. Sure, no one is actively listening, but that's not the point. These companies have been caught with information they weren't supposed to have. You're onboard with all of it. I'm not.
I didn't need some overpriced burgers anyway. Just thought I'd try this "no strings attached" online ordering thing and it turns out to be nothing like that. So you either go to the place and pay the full, inflated, bullshit prices or you install the bloatware spy shit with permissions or you sign on for their "exclusive offers" you can supposedly opt out of at any time. NOT WORTH IT.
Getting a quick cheap burger used to be simple and it still should be. People are just laying down these days.
