Panda Express
Ate panda for the first time in 20 years. Ordered 10 minutes after opening so everything was fresh. 3/10 dining experience. Chowmein was dry and rubbery. Rice had no flavor. Orange chicken was decent for 5 minutes then became extremely hard. Tried the hot sauce and it tasted spoiled. Do people really like eating this stuff?

I have ate there a few times. Everything is always too salty, too sweet, too over the top. I find pretty much any regular chinese take out place better.

You probably went to a shitty panda express the one I go to is pretty good

I do like it, but I don’t love it. yeah it’s pretty bland. but not unlike Taco Bell, this is a restaurant where dousing it in sauce is a requirement. it is meant to be eaten that way. sorry you didn’t like the hot sauce they’ve also got soy sauce, hot mustard sauce, sweet and sour, chili sauce, and teriyaki sauce. take your pick, and don’t take a single bite before dumping 4 oz of sauce on it.

I have never had this experience. The chow mein is 100% ass and you need to coat the rice in soy sauce for it to be decent. I've never used their hot sauce so I can't say if that is typical or not.

Usually, having to drown your food in sugary/hfcs sauce to make it edible isn't a good thing

Yeah no shit, fast food isn't a good thing, retard. It is decent when you eat it in an indulgent and unhealthy manner and as such should be eaten sparingly. Are you looking for recommendations for fast food slop you can eat daily?

No, I am just saying there are so many chinese food places to eat at that you don't have to drown in sauce, if you are wanting to eat chinese.

literally no one is trying to put this restaurant on a pedestal. we’re fully aware of its sloppy shortcomings and thus do the needful to compensate

I went during a dinner rush and had to stand around for 30 minutes despite the app saying my order was ready immediately. I will never go back there.

Yeah and most of those chinese places don't have the food to you in without a call-ahead in 2 minutes with homogenized widespread locations. People eat fast food because it's convenient and consistent. Do you think people eat fast food because it's high quality?

People like you are the reason standards have been allowed to fall so low.

I don't go to Panda Express or any fast food outside of the occasional quick meal maybe once a month. If I dine out it will actually be at a local place or somewhere nicer. You're just assmad I told you the way things are. That doesn't mean I approve of it, I'm just not delusional.

Panda express is to chinese food as what chupotle is to mexican food. Americanized slop.

all fast food/junk food is trying to hide the deep depression we're in but they just can't hide it anymore. you pay $20 for a tiny hamburger patty and a single french fry.

>Americanized
do other countries do this too? like say, in Russia do they have Russianized American food? is there Egyptianized Korean food?

It's getting more common as a whole but as a nation that is both young and has a large part of its identity built on the emigration of other cultures here to make their fortune, America is going to have more fusion and local variants of the dishes of other cultures.

i honestly see no point to places like panda when there's already so many mom and pop chinese food shops that do it better and for cheaper, too. portions tend to be more as well.

British people have Britishized Indian food, they don't actually eat "true" Indian for example and that's not a bad thing, you have to adapt for your customer's tastes.

so not only did you piss off the hungover kitchen staff, but your food was the first to make contact with the half-assed cleaned prep areas, still dripping in chemicals?
smart.

Actually the rice was very salty. Idk if that counts as seasoning.
