Contrary to popular belief the true best staples are oats and potatoes, which happen to be extremely Irish. That and seaweed. as well as salmon. and mussels. every time i think of actual Irish cuisine i am immediately reminded that Ireland is the Japan of Europe. is the Norman invasion never happened we would still have a high king probably have gotten nuked and a population of 80 million.
Anyway I have a good idea, mochi is made with"glutinous" or sticky rice, which is just rice with low amylose content in its starch. Oats also have low amylose, but not as low, and more protein instead of starch. Can I make mochi out of oat flour and if not is there a variety of oats that i can?
Also heres a nice porridge recipe i love:
100g oats
30g cocoa powder
0-40g sugar (depends on if you're American or normal)
50-120g peanut butter
300ml milk
