Whats your favourite British food? I'll start with the humble Cornish Pasty. British food is surely the most underrated cuisine on earth. I say this because of its global reputation as being disgusting which means its nowhere near rated to the level it should be.

The one thing I'll give the British cuisine is that they do good meat pies, crusts, etc. You know what, I'll give them baking in general. Bread pudding is unbelievable, don't understand why other cultures don't care to make that kind of thing.

The only thing impressive about the full English is how much shit they press onto one plate, you fat fuck.
The individual foods aren't all that impressive or notable, but then you cram like 2000 calories of it all on one plate at 8am and Norf FC fat retards think they're in heaven. Other countries have examples of all the same food, we just don't eat it all in one sitting while the sun is coming up like a bunch of fucking ogres.

Genuinely think that is applicable to a lot of British food. I think pies in general are just my favourite, be it steak, chicken and mushroom, ham and leek, fish pie, whatever, there is just something heavenly about the mix of a full dinner retinue of produce, constrained in a thick saucey pastry prison.

It's like anything, you eat at a bad builder's diner or wherever and you get cheap Wall's/Richmond's sausages, cheap plain beans, basic eggs etc. in massive quantities because they think lots of food=good. You go to a nice place or make it yourself, and the proportional distribution is normal, quality ingredients are used along with herbs and spices. Like I said, it's just like anything. Also I personally have them very rarely and when I do they are usually a brunch thing that keeps you filled for basically the rest of the day.

OP posts this phrase in pretty much every bong food thread, it's more of a meme started and perpetuated by Americans, we all know the story behind it.

I can’t really find any British cuisine anywhere in my area.

I really want to try a butter pie, beef wellington, steak & kidney pie, yorkshire pudding, black pudding, lancanshire hotpot etc.

The issue at play for me when I've tried making it is that, because of the wide swathe of ingredients, it's impossible to even justify making unless you're going to make a lot.
Just for example, if I open a tin of baked beans it bothers me to just get a couple scoops and then put the rest in the fridge.
That's just one reason why the full english is always a huge gluttonous mess.

I've never gotten the chance to eat authentic british food, but the meat pies look bombastic, similar to our empanadas salteñas or empanadas in general. Their pies look like huge ass empanadas and honestly, like >>21575989 said, their baking game is very very good. The full english breakfast seems like it'd be an atomic bomb for digestion, but good if you need to work all day.
I love fish too so eating fish and chips, kippers, mackarel-dishes would be incredible.

I think it's mainly Americans who just think that weird food is eaten everywhere in Britain, like the Stargazy Pie, which is just a traditional thing in a few coastal Cornish villages.

British food definitely gets a bad rap, speaking as a Brit. But that's because people aren't comparing apples to apples so to speak - of course you don't have many delicious vegetable or fruit dishes, most of them don't grow well in the UK. But the quality of most animal products is brilliant here - we have great beef and especially lamb, as well as game. Dairy products of all kinds are excellent too. And can't forget local fish which is underappreciated by the local populace.

So some of the best food you'll find is simple stuff like roast meats, stews and pies. Hearty meals you'd expect at an inn, not haute cuisine, and that's fine. But go to a country pub in Wales and you'll get some of the best lamb dishes ever, and a pint to match. Go to a seafood restaurant in Cornwall and have some dressed crab by the shore, what more do you need?

The issue is it's a hard food to export because it's not sexy and it's not really interesting. But anyone who has traveled around the UK should be able to tell you that good food can be found everywhere and it's not all fish and chips

Since this is the only thread about bong cuisine, I got a question to ask
I follow this recipe (https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/toadinthehole_3354) for toad in the hole, and it says in regards to the batter mix
