Fucked up
I went to make a key lime pie using a tried and true recipe. In my haste I decided FUCK squeezing times I'd peel them blend them and strain the juice from the pulp. Its bitter. Its very bitter. The fucking pith makes it so bitter. But I made ut I paid for it I'M GOING TO EAT IT.
Do you eat your mistakes, /ck/?

salt sometimes balances out bitterness if you don't mind trying that. just don't end up oversalting it too lmao

i usually try to eat whatever i make unless it's something that would make me sick. like when i accidentally added a tablespoon of baking soda to biscuits instead of a teaspoon. just felt nauseating to eat. but something being inedible rarely ever happens.

Its solidifying in the fridge now so I cant alter the filling, do you mean salt the top before applying whipped cream or salt the whipped cream?

No he means while making it, you taste the filling before pouring it into the pie. It's too late now. I mean salt your pie if you're inclined OP. Try it.

Sprinkling sugar or powdered sugar on the slice before eating it would be a better idea than fucking salt.

I eat my mistakes, but I cant think of the last time I fucked something up so bad it was inedible. I guess, I make chicken parm a few weeks back and my kid wanted some crushed red pepper on it so I gave her the bottle of it and she poured a shit ton on there by accident. I traded plates with her and scraped a good pile of it off and ate it anyway. I was sweating profusely.

Ideally you'd want to add salt to the pie filling but just sprinkling a bit of salt on top could still help even it out. People do it with coffee that's a little too bitter. Salt tastes good on desserts sometimes too, so it's not that unusual.

I would probably just sprinkle a bit of salt on top of the pie before adding the whipped cream and see how that works. Since the whipped cream isn't the issue just adding salt to that might not help properly.

I've gotten close to fucking up food with salt a couple times by pouring it directly into food like that. I only ever do it with spoons now or pouring the salt into my hand first.

I didn't taste the filling before putting it to set because id made it so many times, I tasted it after I'd poured it in the shell and picked the bowl. I'll just salt the whipped cream more

That's odd. Makes me think of the Brazilian limeade thing I've seen posted here sometimes where they blend whole limes into the drink. But it's made with condensed milk. Maybe taste the pie with the whipped cream first and see if that makes it taste alright before doing the salt.

This is probably one of the few things that make things impossible to eat if overdone. Like when you are young and stupid and misread a recipe and add a tablespoon of salt instead of a teaspoon.
