>sizzling hot plate is one of my favorite dishes
>find out they cook everything on normal pots in the back, heat up the plate and throw it on before they bring it out
a little bit of magic has died in me

Why? That doesn't make it any less fun.

tell me you've never cooked without telling me you've never cooked
just look at the thing, it'd be impossible to stir anything in the pan and the handles are impractically tiny for anything other than their intended purpose of being picked up and placed on a table

Sizzle platters are cheapish used and awesome for cooking/reheating smaller things in the oven. And you can use them for their original purpose too if thatโ€™s your thing.

What? Then it's still getting sizzled. I had a delicious one: steak, onions, peppers with a creamy sauce and cheese melted due to the sizzle. Cooked to perfection. I had a few drinks afterwards. Followed by a really nice blowie from a 27yo Romanian. My balls nearly either imploded or exploded, I don't know. And my dick nearly disembarked from my body

I mean, it was. But the lasting (or positive) memory was the food. The woman in question turned out to be psychotic, which soured that part. But cannot sour that meal. Tender steak, onions, all the peppers. The creamy sauce was excellent, the cheese was perfect for it. Served with crispy sliced potatoes and a decent garden salad with dressing.

Did he steal your wallet afterward?

I think the sizzling is to help aerosolize the smell. If you were cooking at home you wouldn't be removed from these and it would be pointless.
