Uncle Ben's Ready Rice
I bought and taste tested a bunch of Uncle Ben's Ready Rice so you don't have to. This isn't their entire line and I have a few more to go. Here's what I have so far (see next post).

Yeah you just wasted your time doing that. I just buy regular rice and use ingredients to make whatever recipe I want, because I can actually cook and make things.

You're clearly mad because this topic doesn't confirm to your tiny slice of life. Grow a pair already.

As someone who has a rice cooker and knows how to cook, I'd rarely buy these. However, if I've stuck at the office overnight and just need something to eat, this would be a third or 4th join. So it's good to know what are the good options out there. Thank you anon, because current 4chan culture you can't use a trip code because of bot accounts calling you a fag for using one, so if you contribute a lot to this community, most people won't be able to tell.

Instant rice tastes like packaging.

the cheddar broccoli was my favourite from when I used to eat these but they all taste a little funky. in the rare instance where I really don't have time to cook something, I'd rather eat a ramen or something.
the uncle bens that you cook in a pot and take like 10 mins are actually pretty good, but at that point you may as well just make your own rice.

I'll say that i don't care what your specific opinion is
but I don't know why more people don't do this

obviously you like instant rice, but most people enjoy some form of packaged food that has a variety of flavors yet rarely stray from their preferred 'flavors'

do yourself a favor and one day buy the entire range of whatever it is you like
record what you thought of each as you go through them and reflect on your opinion

>obviously you like instant rice
That's a grand assumption, which is why you're making yourself out to look like an ass. Instead, you should ask "why are you doing this"? It's because I was looking for shelf stable carbs in the event of power outages or the need to grab-and-go. Frankly, I have a far too expensive zojirushi and make fresh rice regularly. But you couldn't pull your head enough out of your ass to even explore the reason why something was being done. You only looked at what was in front of you and made a biased observation that didn't further the topic at hand.

Boo, I say to you. Boo.

Drug attics use those rice bags to grow magic mushrooms. OP is a drug attic

>It's because I was looking for shelf stable carbs in the event of power outage
and microwavable rice filled that need over regular rice?
you could instead look into power backup solutions, instead you got mad that I appreciated that you took the time to truely evaluate something you obviously prefer over other options

if that isn't the case wtf are you doing dedicating that much time to microwavable rice

I mean, okay, sure. But just speaking personally, if I was stocking something for an emergency situation like this I would just get something I find passable and move on, I wouldn't spend a bunch of time testing and ranking it. If I'm at the point where I'm choking down cold rice in a power outage, I don't think I'll care too much about the nuances of its flavour. I don't know why you'd go through all this trouble of reviewing them unless you enjoy it on some level. Which is fine, it's not my cup of tea, but I don't judge. Don't know why you got so defensive over the implication.

The ones left I have on my spreadsheet are the following. I think there still might be more out there, but for some reason they're either regional or not available at my local stores.

Jasmine
Butter Garlic
Rice Pilaf
Long grain white
Creamy four cheese
Korean BBQ
Whole grain brown
Cocoanut jasmine

Rice is extremely easy to make. You should try it some time.
Anonymous No.21587034 [Report]
For me, it's Uncle Ben's Jasmine rice. Use it with a lot dishes but especially my stir fry. Much bette deal for a 6 pack of them on amazon than local grocery store.

Yea. It's totally fine to tell someone
>im going to be making steak today, will you be wanting any?
The whole point of language is to communicate. So long as the point is made clear, why should anything else matter? Language is just made up, anyways.

thinking back, i've never heard anyone say "make steak". it's always "we're having steak" / "i'm gonna cook some steaks"
