Absolute horseshit and the grocers that do BOGO or Twofer deals are overpricing the stuff in the first place.
Best bet is to just buy one at half the ad price as most stores allow that now, and then it's a good deal unit price-wise, but usually buying both guarantees a bad price vs just going to a discount store.

>Dice onion fine
>Fry it
>Mash up avocado
>Mix it, add whatever seasonings you want
>Toast the bread in the same pan you fried the onion in
>Put your avocado onion spread on it
>And then eat the baked potato assuming its still good
You could maybe even try to mash up the baked potato and mix it in with the avocado, but that probably wouldn't work too well

Low cost dessert anybody? Just because you are poor doesn't mean you have to skip dessert. Here's what I made last weekend. I'm a phone poster so bear with me. No pics, sorry.
Bread pudding
1 pound bread, one loaf or whatever
6 eggs
4 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar + 1/4 cup brown sugar
Vanilla extract
Cinnamon
Fruit or filling of choice.

I got bread on sale, most stores I imagine have a bakery and sell old stuff cheaper.
Fruit: frozen is cheap, or canned pie filling can work. I guess you don't need fruit but why not? Be creative, I know you can. I'm going to try mixing pumpkin puree into the batter and do a pumpkin spice thing next time.
So mix the milk eggs sugar vanilla and cinnamon together. Get your bread nice and stale and tear it up or slice it. Soak the bread for at least 30 minutes.
Transfer into a baking dish. If adding fruit add half the bread, add a layer of fruit then put the rest of the bread on top.
Bake at 375 for about an hour.
Since there's not too much sugar in the mix, I serve it with maple syrup. Kind of cheap, but definitely delicious.

Low cost meals... anything, food is extremely cheap comparative to the labour it would take to produce by hand.

Giant bags of rice for basically nothing
Fill up a basket with pasta for nothing
Meat is so cheap its almost free
Sacks of potato you can get for basically free (walmart isnt the only place you can get them)

You can scrub toilets at mcdonalds basically contributing nothing to anyone and fill up a trolley with above listed food after 1 shift, all of this without a second of labour on a farm, its a joke how easy it is.

I'm talking like finding steak still in the plastic and not even rotten sometimes. One time I found some broccoli, radishes, a loaf of sourdough, potato salad, and some frozen pork chops behind the Food Lion and had a fucking feast. I hadn't eaten for 2 days when I found it all and I was super depressed and suicidal and had all kinds of shit going on at the time, and to this day it was the most delicious most memorable meal of my life because it was like this small little mercy in a completely hopeless bleak time in my life.
